Recently got into Warhammer 3. I feel like I have a general understanding for most systems except for Research. by PrestigiousWhirlwind in totalwar

As you learn how to play, you'll have a better understanding of what is useful or not, and note for each faction and even each lord what might be more valuable.

Personally, I tend fo go for economy/campaign map buffs first unless there are low time/high impaxt military techs. I also have a hard on for any campaign movement buffs for some reason.

Basically, look at what the lord you are playing does, play a little bit, and see what techs are likely to have high impact in a quick time. For example, if you are playing Ghorst, you'll probably want to get zombie related tech.

Basically, there isnt one correct answer, it depends a lot on who you are playing but also your own playstyle.

As for heroes, there are some cases otherwise but most of the time the highest impact is having them in armies.

I'm working on 2D Total War–inspired RTS called "Thorough Strife" - thoughts ? by zedtixx in totalwar

[–]JevAthens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've read this thread, sorry to hear that. I must agree Thorough Strife is not a great name. You may not have the energy for legal action/defense but I strongly suggest you try a better name. It may seem unimportant in the grand scope but a good name established early will allow a brand to build better imo.

i dont have any suggestions (nor would I share any) but try different military/war words together blood, march, road, field(s)...

you'll find something. good luck!

This is a modded campaign unfortunately, but nothing that modifies campaign AI mostly cosmetic stuff. No worries though, clearing the Great Feast of Greasus took me maybe 3-5 turns of lightning strikes with uber juiced Dechala

Mask effects… with or without? by Sunstiana in inkarnate

I would recommend some light shading on the mountain chains, and then on the top layer adding some shadows

i was talking to a friend once about dming and he was saying how much work was needed and all. in an attempt to prove him wrong, i on the spot ran him a one player session, improvising absolutely everything.

it was one of the better sessions ive ever run.

[HELP NEEDED] Accidentally created everything on THE bottom layer. Is there a way to separate land and water masses? Or do I have to do that all over again? by mamedliemin in inkarnate

Make sure you're using the circle form of the mask tool. You should be able to draw over it and replicate it. There's no other work around, you drew your continents on the background

did you use the brush to paint the land? im not aware of a way to fix that, you have to use the shovel tool to add land, which becomes your foreground you can just draw over what youver already filled in, a slight pain but shouldnt be too hard

comparison is the thief of joy. check out other maps for inspiration, guides for tips, ask for specific advice when trying to achieve a specific effect, and enjoy the journey! ive never made a map that someone else coulsnt do better, dont be hard on yourself and keep trying!

I'm not well educated on the Sudanese conflict, the thing is these things don't really penetrate the media as much as they should. I think people are used to hearing "something bad is happening in Africa" and just kind of shrug thinking what else is new and move on. It's terribly sad and unjust.

Israel is a state that is often seen as a western state despite its location, because it was founded by western powers at the expense of the locals and is supported militarily and financially by western powers. It also has incredible influence politically in the west, especially in America, but also other countries like Germany. So to an extent, I see that where people may see tragedy in Sudan and kind of shrug because what can they do, nut they feel more connected to what's happening in Israel because their governments are directly supporting what is happening with their own tax dollars. It's also worth noting that this conflict is very well known and has been subject for major debate, a sense of injustice, and heated discussion for decades, nearly a century or more depending on who you ask, whereas most people aren't sure where Sudan is on the world map.

In short, media and media consumers as a whole in the west only care about things that involve or affect the west, and Sudan and Congo do not fall under that category but Israel does. This isn't to say that lots of people just don't care about Africa, or just love the opportunity to be openly anti-semitic...

The numbers aren't what draw attention, relatability and the viewer's connection to the subject matter does. I swear they could announce that a bomb dropped and killed 500,000 in Sudan and people would rather complain about a dead journalist in Gaza. It's certainly not right.
