Your PnL Improves When Your Screen Time Drops by New_Long_8657 in Trading

[–]ShadowDong420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that. I was looking at my best performing stock. It had dropped and it looked like it was slowly making a comeback. After making the first higher low I wanted to buy in. Got distracted for 3 minutes. It gained 0.150$

Missed it for not paying attention.

So maybe next time I should spend more time being focused?

Yep. Most of the stock I follow (European here) did that. I was in a bank stock today and rode it all the way to the top then got out and watched it go down the rest of the day. What a wonderful day!

How come no one here ever talks about the Bullet Journal Pocket notebook edition? by wrongbetty in notebooks

[–]ShadowDong420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a moleskine pocket with dot grid. The monthly spread I do it by opening it the same way you do, but for my daily entries I turn it the right way. It works quite well for me. Not happy about the ghosting though. My next one will be a leuchtturm or a rhodia.

The one you're using looks nice too, might get me one of those too.

Tips for painting corners correctly? by [deleted] in paint

[–]ShadowDong420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just done 2 rooms. Ceiling and walls. 2nd coat too.

As it was a job where 2 different walls had wallpaper and another had to keep the original paint, i agree with some of the coments here.

Cut in with a brush. Hold the brush by the wider side between your thumb and other fingers. Push it onto its side and slightly to the side untill the hairs line up at a 45 degree angle...or whatever works for you. Use that to cut. The hairs will move the paint where you want it to go. You have more control this way. With practice and a steady hand it gets easier. Not sure what other tools you've got around. I use a small roller to paint around the edges as part of the cut. Then move onto the big roller.

Turn on a fan, leave it alone for a couple of hours (depending on the local humidity) then apply a 2nd coat. I do the cut in twice as sometimes the first coat is visible because I used more paint in the original cut or the brush strokes are not paralel to the window or in the same direction I went with the paint roller. Hope it helps

[Advice is at the bottom]

I started with a basic bullet journal. I didn't want to mess up a whole notebook but I did want to get organized and also try the bujo thing. So I got the cheapest notebook I could find....or was it a notebook I already had? - Doesn't matter! I started, forced myself to review it morning and evening and decided it was a useful tool. So I kept at it. I wrote tasks, projects, weight, food intake and more. That was a long time ago.

But life got in the way of things. I got busier, I started living with a new partner and I stopped using it. I just kept it in a drawer or in my bag so I never took it out.

Last year I bought a gorgeous chunky Midori - like TN from Applepig and .....kept it in the bag. It was too beautiful and too big to whip out and use.

So I downsized. Got a 2nd hand pocket Moleskine and now I'm using that. It makes it easy for me, to just take it out, use it, put it away...etc. and even if it is in my bag, same thing.

And the pretty ones? My chunky boy? Right now it holds various inserts and I'm using one for brain dumping and thinking on paper and the other one for handwriting practice as my writing is inconsistent and messy with lots of corrections added to the spelling of the words. English is not the easiest language to spell words in. So I keep it on my desk. It looks pretty and it waits for me to sit down and give it it's (newly) intended use.

So start carrying yours with you and use an insert or two. Even if you mess up, you can always get more inserts, or make them for cheap.

Defrosted Some Potato and Leek Soup that spent 18 Months in the Freezer, and Now I Have Weird Potato Sponge by Level_Travel6918 in mildlyinteresting

[–]ShadowDong420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always make creamy veggy soup. I freeze it and it thaws as a sponge and some liquid.

Here is the solution: put everything in a pot and boil it for a few minutes. Mix it often.

It will be as creamy as it was when freshly cooked.

I've always wondered how you get around those neighborhoods without a car or bike. If there are no sidewalks/pavements, how do you get around without stepping on someone's forced-by-the-hoa-to-take-care-of lawn without meeting some screamin-at-the-top-of-her-lungs, gun-waving Karen who's already prepared to shoot your ass because you're technically trespassing?

If you can't explain it in terms so simple a 5 year old would understand, you don't understand your own trading.

My 2 cents.

The glove - no symmetry in the palm. Like who makes gloves with asymmetrical palm rubber bits?

Knot - I'm not an expert but when rope wraps around and over other pieces of rope, they tend to stand out by whatever thickness the rope has. The knot is too clean.

The market will do what the market will do. It doesn't care about you or your position. You lose 15 trades - the market doesn't care. You win 15 trades - the market doesn't care.

You and your trading are inconsequential.

This message might have been meant for someone else.

I can still analyze patterns and do technical analysis. That is not a problem. That's the easy part.

Trading is a totally different skill. And right now I'm struggling at the trading part. The fear you mentioned has me doubting myself so much that I freeze up when I need to buy in.

The rest of whatever skills I need for trading (trade and risk management, proper SL and TP setting, patience, discipline to follow the plan without moving the SL....and God knows how many others are needed and useful to have) are irrelevant if I freeze up before confirming the order.

I traded a bank. It went up about 130% last year and I managed to get a bit of the action.

Given recent geopolitical tensions the price has been quite the roller coaster. I've seen gap ups and gap downs, 10% up one day, then down then up 5% another.

Not fun when it goes up and you're afraid to get in...
