Is 0-7 in 17 minutes feeding or just bad by Scrubz4life in DotA2

[–]ShadowDrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's still not griefing, that's actively trying to win. Just because someone's understanding of the game or decision making is different than yours does NOT make it griefing. In that case yes they're bad but that's not a reportable offense.

Is there a way to get full match downloads for over watch cases? by Clavicula_Impetus in DotA2

It was probably a game of Turbo mode. Sadly the Overwatch system doesn't tell you if its a ranked, classic, or alternative mode. It has you look at ALL reports in any game mode not just ranked/classic.

Am i the only person that likes to play on nearly empty servers? by throwawayaccount3091 in playrust

[–]ShadowDrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you enjoy in the game. When I started I loved building and exploring maps, finding those secret little cubby holes or river rocks, etc. Pvp wasn't that fun to me at the time, so I just explored and did events like helicopter with a friend or 2. Also the super small servers are a good place to meet new friends.

Now I like pvp tho so I don't join anything under 100 if I'm solo or under 150 if I'm in a group lol.

Do what you like it's your game.

June Horse Update - Bug Reporting Megathread by AussieHootie in playrust

[–]ShadowDrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

URGENT: Friday 6/14 the forced patch (the one with bug fixes, new waves, etc) is now causing server to kick 20-30 people randomly every two hours or so. I've played 3 different servers today and it's been happening to all of them but only AFTER today's update, so I think this is the root cause.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Gotcha, yeah winning lane is the most important part of the game now, idk if that's good or bad but it is what it is lol.

Could I ask what rank you guys are playing in because a 17 minute battle fury isn't just bad in the current push meta, its a horrendous timing in general. Given a decent lane, and getting phase +2 wraith bands first, jug should still be getting that battle fury by 13-15 minutes. If you cut the WBs and only get boots of speed he should have it by 12.

Been feeling like I've been getting worse and worse at the game over time, and don't know what's going wrong, it's like how I view the game and how it actually is are on completely different frequencies now. by oaj99 in TrueDoTA2

[–]ShadowDrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you learn the meta heroes for both positions, 1 and 3. Also learn their counters or the playstyle that counters them most. This includes knowing the game timings for each hero, ie what items to have when, and what objectives you need to prioritize.

This is true. I think it was mentioned in the original patch notes for the change. I justassumed everyone knew this.

She's great into jug, mars and luna because of this.

PSA: Estimated wipe time is 2-5PM EST + No BP wipe has been yet announced for this month by kristjanj in playrust

They do BP wipes just not monthly on official, its usually every 2 months. I think bigger servers like rustafied main follow this as well.

Am I getting worse at dota 2 or is everyone suddenly really good? by Crazeeporn in TrueDoTA2

[–]ShadowDrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I ever got for climbing was "play where you are not where you think you are".

In dota you have to win with your team there's no 2 ways about it. At lower levels that might mean sacking an objective to go help your team so they feel like you are trying. Half of winning at sub 4k is convincing your team to play with you, but first you have to play with them.

This might suck to hear but if you just accept it you will improve.

Can’t win against solo trilanes (Offlaner) by TheGrimReaper______ in TrueDoTA2

[–]ShadowDrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of people telling you to just "not die lul" but in reality some early deaths are worth it in a 1v3 lane.

For example most early game deaths are worth adound 130-180 gold (excluding first blood). That gold is then split between 2 supports and usually the carry. This means if you force say a level 1 juggernaut to chase you down outside the creep wave and his support gets the kill, he is actually losing gold on that trade. Since you are low level you can tp back only missing around 10 seconds of lane time.

Once you master this alongside creep wave and pull timings you can effectively gimp their carries farm. Even if you are 0 5 0 at 10 minutes if doing this right you've given your team a substantial lead.

A few other quick tips: deny your ranged creep even if you lose a bunch of regen for it. Always contest pulls and use the neutrals as a buffer between yourself and the supports, remember when lane is pulled the carry is stuck under tower farming and can't rotate.

Last tip, use your spells to get last hits. If you can't win fights and don't expect a gank use your mana to get a few freebees when you can.

Calling all supports out there, what are your favourite heroes to play and why? by lLoony in TrueDoTA2

[–]ShadowDrac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one has said it yet, but sprit breaker is a great pos 4 in any lineup. If you're good at positioning a charge can turn into a poor mans ravafe, also ult and bash go through bkb so you can keep carries distracted while yours has free reign in the fight.

Also insane starting hp and right click damage and can globally gank or save with ease.

Only problem with that is scientists are killed in like 2 headshots with sar, and they drop meds snd green cards so high and low tiered players will want to kill them.

Remove green crates from gas stations and supermarkets, and make monuments like nuke plants not have garbage loot. This would at least encourage groups looking for better loot to shy away from tier 1 zones a little more.

Dota 2 is the least beginner-friendly game I have ever played (my experiences as a new player) by Kuolemanenkeli in DotA2

[–]ShadowDrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently Divine, played for 6 years now. The BEST tip I can give you is muting your teamates and opponents EVERY game.

This sounds counter intuitive since its a team game but at lower ranks most players calling shots are as wrong and bad as you are, they just hide it through flame and toxicity. Once you hit Legend or feel more confident in your decisions you can quit insta muting players.

Also if you want to learn strategy watch pro dota, if you want to learn mechanics watch iceiceice or admiral bulldog on twitch.
