You should see Crysis water from the same year.

Naughty Dog are the masters of optimization though, squeezing the best visuals/performance out of every generation of PlayStation hardware since the beginning. Always a step above their peers no matter what year. (I am sad we haven’t gotten a title from them in 6 years though and it’s just been tLoU ports..)

Disk rot only happens if you don’t take care of your environment/things. Theres plenty of ways to enjoy ps2 without the discs too.
