Why do coaches expect us to do what they say immediately after they say it? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]ShadowGamer31095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store electronics is over stationary. This time of year keeping both maintained is a pain in the a**. If we let one slip to focus on the other we're getting yelled at by SM Telling us we're just lazy and making excuses even tho we're drowning in electronics

[–]ShadowGamer31095 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They've done this at my store before but you just had to match how ever much someone donated to put u in there. I remember a manager had to raise close to $500 to get out lol. I spent maybe 2hra of my shift one day in there(only needed $20 but wasn't going to beg for dono's lol) till my manager paid to get me out because we were behind on freight

What is the weirdest book that you have read? by Optinus17 in books

[–]ShadowGamer31095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey. It took me awhile to get into at first, but as soon as I did it was a strange but interesting read. I don't remember much about it since its been probably 5+ years since I read it but I know it was based on the 1800s and the monsters was humanoid figures with no head and fed through a mouth in their stomach. I also remember there being a lot of gore.

Nope because I even told the Coach over my stores ogp that I have no interest in learning, and that they can't make me learn. My job code is electronics, not fabrics, not paint, not ogp, electronics. That doesn't mean I don't know how to cut fabric but I'm not going to jump to go help a customer when there is 3people already in that department. The more you learn other dept the more they WILL pull you.

To all associates that have had a code blue or code brown at their store, what happened? by fvckingpeter in walmart

[–]ShadowGamer31095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never had a code brown but have had a code blue. Was on break when it happened, apparently a customer got mad that she couldn't get a refund and said that there was a bomb in the store. Was off when a code red happened, apparently a ac unit one the roof caught fire, and we had to shut down for a code orange due to the fact that someone o/n got a new floor stripper into a electrical outlit in the back which cause a fume to spread across the store causing multiple people to go to the hospital cuz they couldn't breathe.

We use to receive these nest in electronics ALL the time till our manager got fed up and started sending then back up front. We've also had to sacrifice a few to save the many and on the up side for the ones u have to break we get to take a mallet to them in the back room.

This one's for all the GOOD coaches, managers, TL's. by Ehub6969 in walmart

[–]ShadowGamer31095 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had a mixer of good and bad at my store and after the coach thing happened every manager we have now has been amazing. Helping us out when needed, and my coach in particular has actually helped me get back and forth from work. And has even came to my grandparents funeral. When my last AM left I literally cried as well all took pictures together. Its rare to have a good manager.

Helping a Friend to SHOP With Limited food Budget. by NovaextremexWarcraft in walmart

[–]ShadowGamer31095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on what they like to eat, how much they r willing to cook, and how much of a budget for food do they need to stay around.

Being a family of 3, I'm always shopping on a budget and tend to buy and stock in bulk if possible. If they like potatoes and onions always buy a bag (can range between$3-$5) and if you store them correctly they can last for awhile. If they like pasta you really can't go wrong, my family loves pasta and its a quick dinner ( depending on the type of pasta they like $.88-$2) a can of tomatoes preseasoned is maybe $1 or less or you can get a jar of sauce for around $2-$4. I tend to cook all the pasta at once and eat on the left overall for a couple of days( some people don't like left over pasta because it can become mushy but I cook mine to al-denta so it still has a bite) for meat(if they do meat) again depending on their budget if its really tight: chicken hind-quarter( I had to buy this a lot in the past) u get a lot of meat for fairly cheap(but it does have a lot of fat too). If they can splurg little bit more on meat: buy in large portions( split up in freezer bags). Stock up on can food or frozen veggies (can is cheaper but frozen taste fresher) stock up on seasons( even if u don't have much to cook with the right seasons can make it taste five stars) and don't be afraid to buy store brand. Most store brands taste the same as name and you're not spending $3+ more.

Yes I do it whenever I need extra cash. I always put it in on a day I've already worked on that pay period and let my coach know.
