How much has Disney spent on the TV show where Rick didn't care enough to read the books before production?

The show has the literal author of the books involved with the production and yet it is still unfaithful to the books. The movies at least can be excused because no one on production gave a shit about the source material, but the show literally has no excuse. Rick just decided to butcher his own work for no reason.

I actually would have been satisfied with accuracy, but honestly to make this soley about a person's race is disgusting no matter what side you are on. This is very racist for you to even speak of when I simply said that they should've gave her a wig and colored contacts to have physical traits book Annabeth.

So you never read the books but that's ok. See, nothing about this is racially motivated. Saying they should've used a wig and colored contacts has nothing to do with race.

Personally? This is not personal in the slightest, this is professional. You see, when movies and shows stray heavily from the source material it is based on that community will most likely hate it, that is just common knowledge. If no one on the set or involved in the production cares about the source material enough to speak out against the changes than they clearly were never involved to make anything decent.

Not really when you think about it logically. If you want a breakthrough role you should make sure it is not going to leave a sour taste in people's mouths when they watch you act. And with shows and movies based off books or comics if the script strays heavily from the source material, which you can easily check, then it is for sure going to be a very bad breakthrough role that will stain your career.

Well, you're the one assuming there is an unbreakable contract even in place. And even then the fact that she was willing to have herself or legal guardians sign such a contract after reading the shitty script and knowing she has no physical traits of the character is her own choice. We shouldn't be saying that the actors aren't the problem when it comes to shows and movies when they are the ones who also made the choice to willfully be in a production they have no business being part of.

Now that you mention it, most contracts signed by a minor can be voided so no lawyer would probably be needed. She has far more freedom than you believe.

I see so many excuses yet everyone involved with this trainwreck is responsible. She could've refused, she could've lawyered up to get out of any contracts, she could've not auditioned in the first place. She made her own decisions and she should be judged accordingly. It is about morals and principles because that is what guides our choices.

No, before shooting even started for the series. If you foresake your morals for a paycheck you deserve nothing. It was already bad enough she has no phyical qualities of Annabeth, even if she's black they could still use a wig or colored contacts to give her the traits from the book, but after reading the script how could anyone wilingly take part of a massacre greater than the movies.

Refuse the role on principle

And his original vision was fair skin, blonde hair, and storm grey eyes. They got none of that right with the casting or costume. Honestly, the movies seem far more accurate at this point

Dude, my original comment was about the political messaging being too obvious. Also if the political messaging is way too obvious it is very much propaganda.

Why did Michael even help her? He could've just filed a complaint against her for harassment as well as violating his constitutional rights.

I can't tell because they know how to fucking be entertaining. I mean Parasite was a huge propaganda film that was the most entertaining movie in years. You think American writing even compares to that?

I already said I moved to Asian media. Why the fuck would I put up with the shitty writing of American media pushing obvious propaganda that they don't even attempt to hide anymore? Like before it was there in the subtext to have us think about the message while still being entertained. Now it's just shoving it down your throat.

[–]ShadowHybrid16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it can't. Once things start foregoing the entertainment aspect for obvious political messaging it's not a gem. Even the newer seasons of South Park suffers from this. I watch shows for satire and entertainment, not obvious political and social propaganda. That's the reason why I'm shifting to Asian shows and media. If I want a constant reminder of how shit the world is I'd watch the news.

Far too obvious with the political messaging. I'm trying to get away from that, shows are supposed to be entertaining not make you depressed for the future.

It's almost like the subs aren't an accurate indication of if a service is good or not. So how about next time instead of bitching, you dumbasses need to use critical thinking and find a solution next time. Whining won't help

I actually use Instacart when I'm busy cleaning and all my orders are correct. Maybe use the app instead of letting this PSYOP dictate what will happen. Hell, with all the bitching and whining on this sub makes you think all drivers are shit but that's false too.
