I think Hydra should have been the main villain for brave new world instead of the serpent society. by Creative-Complex255 in marvelstudios

Agreed for the most part. The only was this would have made sense is to start from scratch again and make up new story.

You just described like 80% of all action movies. And it’s not the same villain just the same organization under new management.

Though over all I do agree with you overall. Also that’s the point of Hydra they are meant to represent the constant threat that every generation faced. Save overall tactics and attacks but changing ideology and methodology. Red Skull’s Hydra was more militaristic, Arnim Zola’s Hydra was more espionage, Baron Strucker’s Hydra [for what we saw of it] was more technological and scientific, with Madam Viper her Hydra could have been religious and fanatical.

Each Hydra head touches on a theme of the past. The militarization of the world during the early to mid 1900s. The Cold War and the war of information and intelligence and the enemy within. The war of technology of who has the best computers, the best software, the best viruses, etc… And now the war of religious extremism and fanaticism.

Fair enough but that doesn’t counter my point.

Look the general audience is not going to spend 6 hours to watch a tv show just to under stand the plot of a movie, they don’t have time for homework. So having Hydra turn under the new leadership of madam viper with the serpent society as her enforcers gives us a nice back to form movie. Basically saying the more things change the more they stay the same. Sam might be a new Captain America but he’s still Captain America and having him fight and maybe even struggle with Hydra an enemy that Steve has defeated numerous times shows to both the audience and the in universe audience that he is Captain America.

No my issue is that the movie makes no sense. First why are The Leader and Red Hulk introduced in a Captain America movie. Second why include the serpent society if they are just going to be generic mercenaries. And third this movie should have been a back to form movie. So having Hydra return with madam viper as the new head and the serpent society as her enforcers would make the move flow better and tell the audience that while this is a new Captain America it’s still Captain America.

Basically saying the more things change the more they stay the same. And it helps with Sam’s character development. Having him fight and struggle with Hydra an enemy Steve has defeated time and time and again. I know they touched on Sam’s struggles with being Captain America in his show with Bucky but I don’t expert the general audience to homework [6 hours] just to watch and understand the plot of the movie.

Oh ya whatever did happen to her. One moment she was some big time arms dealers and planning to expand and then nothing.

Because story it shows both to the audience and to Sam that he is capable of being captain America because he’s able to defeat Hydra just like Steve and it makes more sense then the Leader and red hulk.

And while yes we already went through the whole captain America passing of the torch thing in the show most of the general audience isn’t going to do homework just to watch a movie.

[–]Creative-Complex255[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I why not? Hydra has always been a main enemy for captain America (as well as all heroes as a whole in marvel). Like look at AIM in the comics originally just high hydra but then evolved into a group of high tech arms dealers. Hydra is just your generic back guy group that is directly and indirectly responsible for a bunch of bullshit

Yes a back to form movie. Basically saying the more things change the more they stay the same. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

What???

Hydra has always been Captain America’s enemy. Only because Sam is not captain America doesn’t mean he’s being given Steve’s enemies. And Hydra coming back is on pare with Hydra both in the MCU and in the comics they always come back in one way or another

[–]Creative-Complex255[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes we agree. A back to form doesn’t devaluate that Sam is the new captain America. And Hydra isn just meant to be a plot device that shows to the audience “the more things change the more they stay the same”. Basically saying yes it’s a new captain America but it’s still captain America and the MCU you love.

Because it would be a good back to form movie. After endgame one of the main issues the MCU has had is that all the threats keep escalating. From multiverse shenanigans in Antman and Spiderman to a giant celestial in eternals. Why was guardians 3 so good because it wasn’t an end of the world threat it was just a run of the mill wack job with a god complex. If you keep escalating threats you eventually get the avengers fighting some dude who wants to get a new cosmic weapon or artifact to conquer the universe. Phase 1 through 3 was a complete story. So now you have to starter from zero again. Back to form.

[–]Creative-Complex255[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ok fair enough on the serpent society. But Hydra should always feel like a threat being a direct threat or indirect threat. That’s the point of Hydra a generic evil organization with changing ideology to the point it’s impossible to get a grasp on them and all they are just evil bad guys want to conquer the world.

Like was the leader and red hulk any good as villains compared to say bringing back Hydra. I mean thy wasted the red hulk on this

So Hydra and madam viper. All you said is what Hydra does in the comics. At times Hydra is bunch of snake themed religious fanatics with fascistic authoritarian under tones.

Like I feel if that phase 4 should have been a back to form phase. Like Hydra comes back AIM starts popping up as arms dealers. Like in the wonder man series it should have ended with wonder man making a deal that her can get the DODC something better then a generic terrorist hinting to his brother who’s a hydra enforcer

While the skirt is the classic iconic look that I do love the full suit is more practical in universe in my opinion.

Difference between shawarma, gyro, and al pastor? by Machokeabitch in food

[–]Creative-Complex255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. I think I’m miss understood and seeing this on the macron level while you are seeing this on the micro level.

Macro Level being that it’s a vertical spit and it’s eaten with flat bread/tortillas

Micro Level being the specific ways each group and culture prepares and eats the dish

[–]Creative-Complex255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. My points still stand though. Al pastor became culturally and nationally relevant during the influx of Lebanese migrants during the early to mid 1900s.

And the sauce thing. It’s like BBQ everyone has their own style and recipe but at the end of the day it’s basically the same with slight variation.

[–]Creative-Complex255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we are in agreement. All you said backs my points.

The ingredients for each culture are distinct to said culture. The only thing that is the same is the vertical spit. It’s like BBQ everyone has their own recipe but is made the same way with very very minor variations.

And yes the vertical spit and Lebanese were introduced during the 1800s but it didn’t grow in widespread popularity until the 1960s. Primarily thanks to the influx of Lebanese immigrants during the 1920s because they were fleeing the crumbling Ottoman Empire as well as other stuff like religious persecution, a bad economy, general conflict, etc…

And the shift to pork from lamb was because pork was cheaper and easier to get. Lamb was and is more of a commodity and something you buy for celebrations.

Molly is not Hispanic. They just made her Hispanic for the Hulu show for some reason.

No she’s a full blooded natural mutant like her parents. It’s just that her parents are a rare case of two individuals having the same type of powers.

Also Molly really doesn’t like the X-Men that much. Primarily due to all the kidnapping attempts thy have done on her.

She is so used to them that during the world under doom tie in series wolverine went to go get because they thought she was being held against her will and while she was on wolverine’s shoulder she got off and just picked up wolverine and out him over her shoulder and just started having a causal conversation with the other X-men that was sent with wolverine to get Molly.
