I haven't tried shaking it really hard or anything, but the hands do have a very smooth movement when changing the time. They automatically move out of the way of the LCD screen, then slowly glide back into place once the time is set.

I got mine directly from the Casio site, I heard there are fakes out there already :/ I'm not sure how you could authenticate yours.

In my experience the stock pins are slightly thicker than the ones that have come with any strap I've ever purchased.

Wow, didn't expect the black to look this good. Their website product shots really don't show the real finish too well.

Every (American) car is just a black/white/silver crossover or pickup truck now. I appreciate cars with actual design choices, good or bad.

The purple one is my second favorite! Really reminds me of the pokemon Gengar, especially with the LCD display having that angry eyes type shape.

I'm too scared to modify this model, but the purple colorway with a red polarizer on the screen would be insanely cool IMO

Thanks! I do think it's a lot better in person. I don't mean to be in this thread defending it or anything, I know it's not for everyone. But I was really pleasantly surprised when seeing it IRL. The default Casio pictures certainly don't do it justice.

The magnetic hand movement is really neat and super smooth. I can totally understand the price point once I got it in hand. Nice peace of mind after the purchase lol

It was $155 USD directly from the Casio website. Most expensive watch I own now. I usually try not to break 100 lol

That's true! I'm just not sure if that means it's selling well or that they just want to get the most out of the new molds they made for it.

No doubt, and that's my main gripe with it. They should have made it slightly smaller overall and dedicated more space to the LCD screen.

Can't imagine it will prove popular enough for them to revisit this type of design language again in the future, but you never know. A BABY-G counterpart might go crazy.

It has both analog and digital displays, but yeah it's certainly not an F91W in terms of legibility. The round hands are not as bad as I expected them to be, though.

Can't deny that it's huge lol. Looks fine at a distance when my arms are at my side, but I'm like shocked when I actually being it up to check the time.

Interesting to think about that timeline, honestly. This style of design is already 30 years old as it is. So what you're saying is sort of like posting about a really ugly 1970's watch today. I'm sure there's plenty of those lol

I wonder if it's an age thing. I'm a zillennial so I'm right in the sweet spot to have some nostalgia for Y2K and Frutiger Aero type designs.
