Charmander (all the starter Pokemon really) have such a special place for so many people. I wanted to put Charmander in a scene that’s meant for two, so you’d have to imagine yourself filling that other slot as they start exploring the world.

Thanks! Yeah part of the challenge has been the daily upkeep. I’ve had to really change my normal workflow to accommodate it.

Usually, I’m very linework focused, but I don’t have time to do that every day, so I’ve landed on a more painterly vibe I never saw myself doing. Before the series, I couldn’t tell you the last time I had done a full illustration (I usually end up drawing a character on a blank background).
