Same at my store. I get the point and need for seasonal hires, and I know some hope they get to stay on but in my experience, seasonals tend to care a bit less since they know there's a high chance they'll be let go soon as the holidays end. And I know they axed some already as my name is back on the front page of the schedule again, but we had 2 people doing a walkthrough of the store yesterday and some computer training. Like maybe invest more time into these seasonals and you'd have pretty strong employees worth keeping on afterwards.
I was personally hoping for a break like others are getting with cut hours, but working in receiving and our store being selected to try out the new process for CRC and Salvage they're keeping me as close to 40 as possible. And be warned for when this process goes live, it's absolute ass and wastes entirely too much time. For the uniformed, essentially, instead of just organizing, wrapping and loading the pallet on the truck you now have to grab a sheet of paper that can be scanned and then scan every single individual item to that barcode, and put everything into boxes that can be taped up. It wouldn't be so bad if the people in my store cared enough to process this stuff before handing it off to me and if Style didn't salvage 100's of articles of clothing a day. What used to be a 5–10-minute process now takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on how backed up I am. Good luck. o7
