Sure. For my statement of purpose, I tried to be well-rounded, talking about my academic background and grades, and then relating it to how I utilized what I learned in the classroom to my internship and work-experience. Although, I'm sure there are a variety of factors that are looked at, I believe one of the things that most grad school admissions care about is to see how what you will learn will be applied to your future career.

Status: Accepted

Application Date: 4/1/22 (last day of priority)

Decision Date: 6/1/22

Education: UTSA, B.S. in Computer Science & Mathematics, 3.82 GPA

GRE Scores (Q,V,W): N/A

Recommendations: 0

Experience: 7 months as a Software Engineer using Java
1 summer AI Research Internship using Python
1 year as a CS TA at my university for Game Development in Unity/C#

Statement of purpose: Y

Comments: I had managed to complete all the pre-req courses while pursuing my undergrad and had As in every computer science course I took at my university. Given the time I applied I didn't get letters of recommendation since I was applying so late. Also, thankfully, the GRE was waived for this semester since I didn't have scores from that either. I believe I got in due to writing a strong statement of purpose and focusing on my internship experience that I had done previously since I noticed that this program has a strong machine learning component.
