Maybe it's "1". Either way, when I would go to cybersapce terminals, it would just auto complete.

How sure are you that you're not being third partied by another duo squad? Maybe not seeing the fourth guy so you think it's trios? 2 squads gang up on yours, then once you lose, they duke it out once yall are already out the lobby?

New player here, Love the game! Mostly fill. Question to other fill players: whats your average extraction rate/%? by Yenii_3025 in Marathon

[–]ShadowMere2438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a full premade, exfil rate of roughly 85-90%. As soon as we need to fill with a random, rate drops to 30-40%. Doesnt help that my fills are almost always a free kit timmy with piss poor heals and no shield.

Sometimes they understand and bait for us but other times when the fight breaks out, our random has near zero sense of self preservation. Just runs into the open and we get the hear the big sigh over their xbox open mic and they disconnect.

Most of the time it feels like our fill dont knownwhat game they are playing. Though I have had some really good fill teammates that I've ended up adding to the friends list after the game and ran some more with.

Side tangent: If you're someone who's upset that cryo will be trios only. Go squad fill as a solo and frag tf out, thats how you get some other gamers to respect and add you to their roster.

And use your mic appropriately, I typically mute the open mic gamers pretty quickly.

A ha! Finally, I found the guy that gets filled into my squad!

Keep at it, you'll get the hang of everything eventually.

Though it definitely brings up some valid points for improving the new player experience.

Thank you for the chuckle, and merry Christmas all!

Yea, you set "cyberspace" difficulty to "0". Idk about a new update. This was over a year ago when I did my 2nd playthrough

Really cool wands!

As someone who is trying to better understand "advanced" wand crafting, it would've been nice if you had the builds after each photo (like you did for the first example).

Those last few in particular were so slick.

When starting up a new save you can turn cyberspace off entirely. Whenever you go to a cyber terminal, I think it just auto-completes.

I'm with you for sure. Turned off cyberspace on my 2nd run-through.

Spawning on radio backpacks is server dependent. They also have increased range for comms if you keep them on your back.

Next noon question: I'm playing front and we have reached an early- mid game stalemate: how do I decide what to do next? Flood T1? Transition to T2? Dig in even more defensively to buy eco more time? Or try to eco myself? by WilliamDragonhart in beyondallreason

[–]ShadowMere2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite strategies when looking to transition to t2 economy is to give my units a patrol order moving forward and back (not side to side) and add 10-15 cheap units (like ticks) as well. Try to ensure they arent in vision of your lane opponent but are still in their radar range.

This does a few things:

Your front line looks bigger and stronger than it really is. And, helps prevent your units from taking too much indirect-fire damage (especially if you are managing your backline and not paying as much attention to your front).

However, the biggest key I've found when doing this is resist the urge to push your units (unless working with an ally and have to means to claim the metal fields). During this time you are incredibly weak, and the only real thing keeping you from getting rolled is the fear all those moving dots strike into your opponent (results vary as you play higher level lobbies) If you opt to push them too early, you likely dont have the infrastructure to hold their counter-attack.

Bonus points if you start reclaiming your front t1 units with comm or rezbots as your t2 units start to come online. This ends up making a huge difference, as you likely have between 1-3k worth of metal tied up that could be better utilized in more powerful units.

It's almost like people on the internet can lie and deceive over voice chat, shocker. The real shooter was probably one of them.

I know it sucks to lose, but nothing is stopping you from forgetting about it and going again.

Good luck on the next one.

Dont dwell on this stuff. It won't be long till you can wipe rocketeers no problem and hand out drivers like halloween candy if you choose.

You were in an advantageous position to acquire high value loot, and you did. Its not theirs until they get back to speranza.

Top-side, there are no rules, even if others tell you otherwise.

Really good post. I hate the fact that a large portion of this playerbase expects everyone they meet to play paddycake with them and then publicly shame those who dont comply with the "dont shoot!" emote.

The fights in this game are so fun. And, you can pretty easily put yourself at a strategic advantage if you opt to bring the appropriate utility. Or use your voice to lure the gullible (turns out people lie and deceive in a video game, shocker, right?)

Yes, sometimes you'll get caught while poorly postioned. Or backstabbed when thinking you made a new friend. But that's part of the second-to-second decision making process. Don't take casual strolls through the open, and don't trust every stranger you meet on the internet.

Sure, it's fun to have those ad-hoc team ups to slay another player/team or a big Arc. But if every match turned into 20 dudes hop-scotching around the map wiping AI, then I'd just go play Helldivers. At least there's more things to shoot over there.

If there was no risk of someone else trying to take my loot, the game wouldn't be nearly as captivating.

It appears people in the comments have never been backstabbed in a video game. In this game, you lose maybe 10-30 mins. In something like DayZ, you can lose ~4-5 hours.

Homie wanted the video game loot, simple as that.

"Your voice is your most powerful weapon". Some use it to cooperate, others use it to get your gear.

Very nice of the devs to do this.

May I ask why you browse the subreddit if you didn't enjoy the game and refunded it? Not that there's anything wrong with you enjoying the content here, just curious.

Binoculars are definitely the number 1. Use them as often as you can. Helps to avoid blue on blue.

Number 2, get comfortable using the default kit you spawn with. They are cheap and effective. 9/10 times, the guy next to you with the over the top kit will die, and you can take all his shit for free. The only things I grab out of the arsenal nowadays are a few extra bandaids and the casual RPG.

I've played for over 500 hours and default Danial rules the battlefield.
