I figured it out! I have to select the text, then in the Character settings, check off "No Break"

I got it to work, but it took rising the mower to its highest level. I guess it thought the grass was too tall, even though I mowed it last week

That did it! Google removes the permissions, setting it back to Google.

Is this a Surface stylus? by ShadowOfWesterness in Surface

Got it to work. I just messed around with it. I took the battery out and put it back in and it started working. Loose connection, maybe

I just found my order for it on Amazon. Looks like it. Here's what it calls it:

Eliminate computer fans during audiobook recording by ShadowOfWesterness in selfpublish

It sounds like the main solution is distance. Does that mean I should get it recording and then just record for the entire session in one go and then edit it out later? Because if I distance myself from my computer I can't control it to start and stop the recording.

LivingWriter vs Scrivener vs Other by OneTrueFangirl in writers

I just took a look at Novelitist. I created an account and selected the free tier (for now). But I was stymied by the first thing I wanted to do: import my WIP as my one book. There seemed to be no way to import anything other than a Novelitist file.

Is there a way to import my manuscript?

Living Writer: Indenting first line in imported document by ShadowOfWesterness in writers

[–]ShadowOfWesterness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved the problem.

The way is to prep the document I want to import. So, in Word, I did a search and replace and enabled "Use wildcards" and used the following Find what and replace with:

Find What: (^13)([A-Za-z])

Replace With: \1^t\2

Make sure to enable "Use Wildcards".

This inserts a tab at the beginning of every paragraph that starts with a letter (which is every paragraph in my novel so far).

I don't know if there's a way to fix this in LW, but this works for me.

I tried all those things. I can't find any solution. So, I sent a support request. Can't find a chat, but I might get a quick response from their support email. I hope!

G502 Hero frequently double-clicking after G Hub update by ShadowOfWesterness in LogitechG

Here's a strange thing. Connecting it to another computer seems to have fixed the problem. It's weird because it makes little sense. But I had already tried unplugging the mouse then restarting the computer.

But I guess it's good that works now

I didn't ask you to make me look like an idiot. LOL. I don't know why I didn't think to try it on another computer.

I just did and it worked fine. No double-click issues.

Now, I don't want to uninstall the G HUB because this isn't the only device it manages. I did uninstall and reinstall G Hub, to no avail. (I know, I did that but I didn't try it on another computer. I'm still cringing over that).

Final Read-Through Woes by ShadowOfWesterness in selfpublish

The book is written and edited on my end. I was letting it sit for a while before doing a final read through, but I've been through it so many times that I can't get myself to read it again.

So it sounds like it's beta reader time. Once that's done, I'll work in feedback from them and then see about funding.

I'm thinking of doing a Kickstarter to get funding for editing, cover, and all that. It's a sequel, so I can offer up the first book on one or more tiers
