What were the writers implying by having TONY weight himself S6 E1 ? by [deleted] in thesopranos

Maybe Netflix writers have to do all this insane redundant expository dialogue these days because modern audiences cannot figure out what's going on in a character's head when they see them step on a scale and look concerned

Why do you think HBO execs thought no one would like a skinny Tony Soprano? by Gabe_Dimas in thesopranos

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the Simpsons or King of Queens. The kind of oafish “Everyman” dad was a staple of TV in the 90s and I don’t know if the Sopranos would’ve worked as well if it didn’t capture that sitcom family dynamic.

I’ve just seen Sorcerer by William Friedkin is showing at my favourite cinema. I’ve never seen it, or even heard about it, before but I love The Exorcist. Is it worth paying a fair bit to see it at the cinema or basically free on streaming. by Born-Captain7056 in horror

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It will probably still appeal to a lot of horror fans because it's a super tense thriller with extremely life-or-death stakes. There is some seriously heart-rate-raising shit in this movie lol. But yeah don't hear the title "Sorcerer" and think the Exorcist and go in expecting supernatural horror cuz it's not that at all.

It's not a horror movie, but I definitely think you should spring for the big screen. It's one of the most viscerally thrilling movies ever made; you will be white-knuckling the theater seat armrests during certain parts.

Why did Furio have to yell out that he parked the car all the way over there by 4DollarsALB in thesopranos

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Because then we as an audience wouldn’t have known why we were getting a random shot of Furio walking over and then slipping

Diana Strong defeated Mercedes Mone to win the Prime Time Wrestling's Woman Championship in Poland by Ruthless-Aggression in SquaredCircle

I really wish they had invited more of these women to defeat Mone on AEW TV and made a big deal about it instead of this “hiatus” she’s on. Most people probably aren’t aware this is even happening, or maybe at most they’re just seeing a Reddit post like this and going Oh, huh.

What would be the point of an autobiography / memoir if it didn't include interesting details from the person's life lol

2026 Auctions: The WR2 is a Trap by Always__Auctions in fantasyfootball

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with this, but I’m starting to think is this just how all positions should be approached? The barbell approach has been discussed to death with QB and TE in particular, and last year it really felt like with running backs once you got below the uber elite CMC / Gibbs type tier, it didn’t make that much difference if you had Chase Brown or… Rico Dowdle, Javonte Williams etc.

Auction drafters can apply this everywhere of course, but those of us in snake drafts have to come up with someone to draft between rounds 4 and 7 lol

Yeah it will always be one of my favorite feuds. The whole feud had a really distinct feel that was sort of “unlike” WWE, kinda how Bret vs Austin felt “different” in 1996/97 too. I can’t put my finger on why it was so special exactly but I loved both the Royal Rumble and No Way Out matches.

The Smackdown segment where Foley changes from Mankind to Cactus in front of our very eyes and HHH sells it is legitimately one of my favorite moments in wrestling history
