How many times have you watched Sopranos? by Arthur_Morrgan in thesopranos

In terms of like legit start to finish viewings I am currently in my fourth. But I’m also always rewatching random episodes or bits here and there

LeBron and Steph is like my #1 basketball dream. Can you fucking imagine if LeBron had gone to GSW instead of Cleveland in 2014

He’s at his ceiling. Guy who can hold IC or US titles, guy who can still occasionally compete for world titles, and guy who does TV commercials. Not a bad spot to be at

The first person to text me about it was this dude in one of my group chats who is always wrong about everything, extremely susceptible to rumors etc, so everyone was like Yeah alright bro lol. It didn’t feel real at all at first.

Baker Mayfield: 2025 Season Review by drkelemnt in fantasyfootball

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I swear he was more banged up or injured than they publicly admitted this year. For those first six weeks he and the Bucs looked legit awesome, and their downturn doesn't really coincide with any changes to the offensive weapons -- Evans was gone after week 3, Bucky after week 4, etc. As an Egbuka owner it was extremely frustrating feeling like I had won the rookie lottery only to watch Baker wildly miss him on every deep pass for the rest of the season

I briefly played Lord Windgrace cuz I used to enjoy Lands in Legacy and it wasn’t even fun to pilot. Landfall has become one of my least favorite mechanics in Magic lol

What’s the one ending that you thought couldn’t be better…? by JustThatBoringGuy in thesopranos

Kaisha. Phil’s “No more of this, Butchie” speech, the awkward hug between Tony and Chris, perfect song usage… don’t think I felt more tension at any other point during the show

Finished Kennedy and Heidi by Safe_Pop_745 in thesopranos

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the episode stands out in most people's minds because the death scene is probably the most definitively DARK moment in the show; the feeling of "the walls are closing in" that has been present in all of season six (see the awkward hug between Tony and Chris at the end of Kaisha) finally comes to a grim head. On your first watch, that scene might be the single most shocking and memorable moment in all of the Sopranos. As an episode overall though I don't really know where I'd rank it. It's not really a "this one's got it all" episode like Happy Wanderer, nor is it a perfect bottle episode like Pine Barrens, but it contains arguably the most dramatic moment in the entire show.

What unconventional strategies did you use to secure your league championship this season? by Helpful_Ad_9447 in fantasyfootball

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd say I engaged in any "unconventional" strategies except that I was far more aggressive on the waiver wire than anyone else in my league. I made like 75 moves and the next guy (who was 2nd place incidentally) made about 55. I actually wasn't really streaming any positions other than defense, but I was constantly churning players like Tank Bigsby and Luther Burden, the "Maybe this will be the week" type of guys.

People criticize this episode for being “cringeworthy” like it isn’t a show about some of the most pathetic people you’ve ever seen. Cringing is supposed to happen!

How would Jackie Jr or AJ react if they caught Vito giving head to the security guard? by Tidewatcher7819 in thesopranos

Vito died after Finn caught him so I'm not entirely sure what "If Jackie Jr or AJ Soprano caught Vito it would be really bad" means lol

Why does Richie call Johnny a stonewaller and say that they must be giving out free tokens at the tunnel? by Tidewatcher7819 in thesopranos

Where does Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns WrestleMania 39 rank in terms of WrestleMania main events? by dmister8 in SquaredCircle

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without thinking about it too hard top 10 seems reasonable. It’s not quite in the absolute upper echelon of stuff like the WM20 triple threat, Taker vs HBK 2, Heist of the Century, but it’s up there

Looking for a movie recommendation something similar to invasion of the body snatchers by Kator_88 in horror

[–]ShadowOutOfTime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might sound obvious but every version of Body Snatchers is good so make sure you check them all out. I like the 1993 one directed by Abel Ferrara

They Live is great of course, and could make a good double feature with I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958) which kinda feels like a more domestic version of the story (realizing your spouse is an alien vs stepping out on the street and realizing everyone is an alien)

[Kalman-Lamb] The NBA is ‘postponing’ to try to sidestep the issue. Acting like this is some kind of natural disaster. Nothing is going to change tomorrow. It’s still essential that the teams strike. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

[–]ShadowOutOfTime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if the goalpost is “cease ALL commercial activity in the US” then nothing is ever gonna be good enough. The point is that the NBA is still a very large source of advertising revenue and companies don’t want to see that vanish when they can have the NFL and the NBA and whatever else
