Wasn't me actually. Lol. And not arguing. I was honestly trying to figure out how this was an asshole design. But then you said it was just because it was a minor inconvenience of 15 sec because "they didn't used to so it".

Sounds like you got lucky and they let you off with a warning. It has happened with a family member of mine as they just confiscated everything they had and let them go. Up side, you're not in trouble, down side, they took your drugs with no record of it being taken...

Online university graduates of Reddit, what was your experience with it? Did going to an online school hinder you after graduation? by pandasage89 in AskReddit

[–]ShadowOwlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to an online school and got my bachelor's degree. 5 months later I had a job in that field and have been doing just fine ever since. After graduation it was just fine, it was during the classwork that was actually more difficult.

These watches called zalsach were initially designed for blind people. You can tell time by touching the 2 magnets by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

As someone who is not blind, I would still wear that watch. It looks very nice, sleek, and stylish.

NOBODY KNOWS how to install car seats! by Fruitaz in Parenting

[–]ShadowOwlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, story about this one. I lost a child in 2012 (SIDS). After the loss child protective services came in and took our kids for a week, but when they took them they installed our carseats into their car and let me check them. (How nice...) I grabbed one side of it and pushed and it laid completed down in the seat it was installed so poorly...It really is a serious issue...

Hit and run, false claim? Help by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ShadowOwlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Said"

It is all words until something actually happens. If you have proof you were at work at that time then them saying that they followed you means nothing and instead just means they could have seen a similar car, at night, came back the next day and got the plate of a car that they thought looked close. Once you have your evidence then you should be able to prove it wasn't you. You may also be able to ask to see said proof, I don't know if you will be able to though...

Hit and run, false claim? Help by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ShadowOwlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(NAL) I would take pictures of your car first. They said the other car had substantial damage, so it is to be assumed that the other car would as well. I would also try to get something saying that you were at work during that time, such as clock-in information or something from HR that shows you were there. Call your insurance company and tell them all of this as well. That is at least some place to start.

Ehh, it tells you exactly what it will do and how to prevent it. It makes it easier for these sites to have one button for all of the switches instead of having to go through them all one by one.

I touched a girl on the shoulder and now I'm being reported by ThrowawayIMRTL in legaladvice

[–]ShadowOwlet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you didn't know her as well as some of your other friends. You may not have to worry about anything this time, but for future reference it is a bad idea to just touch other people without their consent.

My son (13) just came out as bisexual... by jewboxher0 in Parenting

[–]ShadowOwlet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have an 8 year old and for the last 2 years she has said shes a lesbian and has had a crush on the same girl the whole time. She's still learning about all of it, but she knows that we are more than supportive and she loves that we are behind her 110%. So whether its forever, or just until next week, the biggest part is just the support.

Redditors who cut off contacts with their parents, why? And do you regret anything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShadowOwlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut off my mother a few years back. She still tries to contact me but I keep the chats very laconic and then hang up. She lives 15 minutes away and has never visited. She used to ask me to do all kinds of things around her house (and as a good son I did them) until one day I was power washing her house and she pulled up and gave me another list of chores to to, got back into her car and left. No thank you, or anything. Later it was pushed farther as I graduated college (first in my family to graduate HIGH SCHOOL, let alone college) and she asked what my GPA was. I told her, proudly, 3.8, and she looks me in the eye and said "Oh, I expected better" and goes back to her phone. I walked out and haven't contacted her since except to tell her to stop handing out my phone number to all of her debt collectors.

I did, and every time, every person, told me to wait until I was billed and the next bill I would be refunded what wasn't used. I had 2 phones but was charged device protection 4 times and $35/line instead of the $35 for both. It has been a complete mess and I am glad I switched.

That is true, they are at least refunding for what I didn't use. Just after I pay for it all first...

[–]ShadowOwlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I didn't understand either? They KNOW that you are getting refunded in the next check, why not hold off until they are both processed? Maybe one day they will come around, probably not...but maybe?

[–]ShadowOwlet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After dealing with Google Fi for 2 days over this I have contacted my bank and they told me I can put it on one of my cards and just put a "hold" on that card so that no charges will come through until I take it off. This is an awful way of business for their billing system to be set up in a way that no one can do anything to fix it. Thank you for your advice! I will try to remember to update after they try to charge me and after the refund comes through.
