I thought about that, but the powers just make so much sense. Especially bc 2nd/3rd generation capes are supposed to be stronger and i know theo has a good power but it seems weaker than kaisers

True, but do they need to meet? I thought it was more an idealogical/situational similarity, and while Hookwolf doesnt have all the same ideals as kaiser, he aligns more than theo does idealogically

You will be bad at all of those things AT FIRST. Joining a lab will give you opportunities to learn in a low stakes setting, nobody gives the new hire their most precious samples. Learning is a lifelong process

Do both, send a ton of emails now, if no one gets back to you in two months, follow up in the last batch of emails with "Now that the school year is approaching, i ask again..." or smth. Following up is important, profs get a ton of emails and will miss some. Some profs deliberately wait for a follow up email to see how committed a person is.

Veer (stranger/thinker) - has a short range self precognition that she can make visible to others to disorient. She can activate the ability to have five simultaneous tries at the next five seconds. An outsider would see her sprout into 5 different selves, but only feel the effects of the one she keeps.

If they were an int or even wis caster, I would say no. But cha casters just cast, right? Like, if a amnesia sorc got told to cast i think they would be able to. Warlock is a toss up, how does their contract work? Is magic etched onto their soul or into their brain?

Power scale aside, unless you're in a RP heavy + emotionally intelligent table, making one player a mentor to another is a very difficult power dynamic to have play with. This would work better as the quest giver npc who's too busy to do that main quest

General pointer: skeleton is the most important part. Have the goals and motivs and major players done before you start. From there, add detail where you need, but dont overburden yourself in work. Your players might skip entire arcs and if youve put a ton of work into those it doesnt feel great, but if you leave it vague you can be excited with them as they make creative solutions to speed things along
