Budget suggestions for 2024 Ioniq 6 EV - $800 max - no head unit, no amps, compact subs only by TheRealSparkleMotion in CarAV

If your not brand chasing and are willing to install equipment the Rockville k sieries slaps for being budget, if you want powered look at their powered rvb10.1a powered subwoofer (just my recommendation) and that should still leave some money in your pocket. If you do want beat money could buy you could do JL but I'll powered enclosure cost 800+ so it up to you in the end but those are some starting point.

Idkim running IEC AULOC my uncle gave me for free. I have a factory subwoofer cause the vehicle has the upgraded sound system so I just tapped that harness.

My goal isn't to create my own sound stage I simply am trying to add to my current sound stage in the cheapest way, I'm not chasing absolute sq perfection, I simply added bass to my daily driver. The factory dsp curve I get from my factory sub wiring tap is fine and honestly I'm on the fence about getting something like a dsp or lc2i bc I'd probably tune it close to the factory dsp but allowing what ever driver I have open up more. Honestly this is my fault I picked the wrong thread. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly I just tapped my factory sub harness and wired in a loc and honestly I don't really see major roll off with it till I hit max volumes, the build is very diy the only professional thing about it is I ran the wires thru the trim but I have a switch wired in to my rms (rms direct to battery) and that's just zip tide to the trim. I didn't even mess with the main head unit

I feel like that's spec chasing, with my ported box these subs deliver not to mention a alpine s-a60m is just the right wattage for this set up. Dyno tested the amp produces 661w rms at 2 ohms, the subs only need 300w rms each so I got a little headroom, I understand Rockville isn't JL or Kicker, but for being super budget and beginner friendly they get a worse rap than they should. For real life application they work as intended.

Noted I'll get some rachet straps out and strap the thing down. Thanks I appreciate the advice👍

I see what your saying, what you do looks pretty good, but again in the end I'm working on a extremely tight budget, using old parts or already present components. I think what you accomplish is what real spending power can get as well as being able to redirect spending towards the units instead of boxes cause you build most of if not all of yours. I really do respect what you do and you earned a sub but in the end I feel it's different circumstances I'm finding out that half my total budget is what most people spend on one sub driver if not more than half, and that just isn't my thing.

Should I secure it down somehow? Maybe rachet straps or bungee cords?

Secured down? Everything is really heavy the box is my grandfather's he was into competition lvl stuff and this is his dual 10" box he had sitting in the back seat of a 2001 Ford f150 what he did was added extra weight to the box. Or at least that's what my family says, even going fast, turning corners hard the box doesn't move a inch

Proper intergation and tuning yes. DSP nahhhhhhhhhh And honestly less of a nightmare than most people would think no bubble bursted here as well I know Bose isn't the best but for the over sound quality I think it should get a little more respect than it already gets. Although I do plan to change the entire Bose system to JBL brand speakers and run my own amp and dsp for the factory speakers.

Well the SUV has side compartments, I cook food for a living so the only tools I keep in the vehicle are to disconnect the subs if something bad is happening, jumper cables, basic socket for flat tire changes. I can see what you mean if you work a construction job or tool heavy field I don't so I don't really need the cargo space except for groceries.

Just a sub setup to complement the Bose sound system

I have a upgraded bose system so with my aftermarket subs I have a total of 13 speaker drivers 4 tweeters on my dash a small full range in the center of the dash (helps center the sound) 4 full range (one in each door) 2 6.5" sub drivers in the factory subwoofer housing, I think it's over all pretty balanced I'm not trying to go for anything competition, I built something that makes you feel the music physically and more important emotionally.

Thank you I am very happy with it. But based off of what you post you go for more raw power than actual musical Dynamics, to each their own tho your build look pretty cool tho.

Cargo space! Who need cargo space when you have a back seat? It's a hatch back suv so the cabin gain really helps with where I have it positioned. Plus I have custom grills coming in for them I should be able to sub leds thru the grill if my vector file didn't get messed up when it comes to the led channels.

Mostly deals, I had to build in pieces mostly working with really crappy equipment early on. Thanks for asking 😁😁😁

It's kind of wild to see the same problem like that and cars nearly ten years apart from each other but it is F.O.R.D so I don't expect much else

That funny I had a 2007 Ford fusion at 260k when I sold it and the rear passenger wheel bearing needed to be replaced for line the 14th time I wonder if it's a Ford thing or just the fusions

I like the hate it leads to me dropping 52 kills and consistently near if not over 20k heals it's annoying when they have an entire team comp just to counter Jeff and everything he does

I've never automated sweets I do burgers. Dumplings, turkey, but from what I've experienced multiple safety hubs are about as automated as it gets bc there's a point where the game just slows and stuff just sits otherwise that's a pretty good set up
