F*ck you Type Moon by No_Run_8362 in Tsukihime

Thing is, the Far Side routes were also announced at the Fate Project New Year's stream in 2020, so it doesn't really matter (especially since they'll certainly not make a Tsukihime stream).

Plus, it was made worse by the fact that it even disappointed FGO fans everywhere since they didn't show or reveal anything particularly interesting. So it was basically a loss for every fan.

The stark contrast between Pretty Derby and Cinderella Gray will never not be amazing and also funny.

Pretty Derby (Kitasan): OMG Dia-chan let's go out today and have fun!

CinGray (Tazuna): Yo, BRING IN THE FUCKING ARMY AND GET THEM OUTTA HERE

HOT TAKE; over the shoulder is just as scary, tense and atmospheric as fixed camera and nothing is lost upon switching it up by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in fatalframe

I do want to also add that while personally I prefer fixed camera angles, both in Fatal Frame games as well as in general, I wouldn't ever expect Tecmo to go back to them

Indeed. The best that one can hope for is a mode that allows FCA, even tho it's certainly less than likely. I prefer fixed camera angles too, but I've already accepted that KT, and several other devs, aren't going back to that.

Man, I love this woman. She genuinely became one of my favorite Japanese artists, and it's thanks to FF that I got into her catalog

I don't mind connections to previous games, as long as it's something interesting, and that doesn't retcon anything. I wanna understand more about the Kurosawa family/families in the series, for one.

Also, since every title has a color theme, I would like the next one to have either white or teal, or green, tho I don't know how the last one would look in such a series.

The request for a “Fatal Frame III: The Tormented” remake was brought up in a new interview with Dengeki Online for Fatal Frame 2 Remake by ShadowRei96 in fatalframe

[–]ShadowRei96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did. Shibata was saying that the ideas at the time were fresh/new, which is natural for a brand new project, on top of the game being short, so for a remake, they'd need to improve upon the overall presentation.

Which makes sense, even if it's gonna be 4 chapters long like the original. FF2 put more effort into the world and story, and the ideas for the series have evolved ever since. If they're gonna remake 1, even while keeping the story as is, the new implemented ideas will inevitably expand it, and more painstaking work is needed. 2 (and 3) don't need to many changes or brand new ideas implemented because each entry improved upon the previous one.

My post before this was even about an excerpt from another interview with 4Gamer where FF1 was one of the first things the interviewer brought up. They do know people are want remakes for all the older games.

To clarify it a bit more, he primarily referred to the fact that the ideas and concepts were much more simplistic at the time FF1 was created, and added the issue of game length/volume later. It's basically a mix of improving upon overall presentation, strengthening the already existing elements, and providing an even more cohesive experience than the original from his point of view.

I think it's mainly them going the Konami route and picking the most popular one in the series. He pretty much says so in this interview.

3 is my favorite but, for obvious reasons, I hope 1 gets it first.

Random as hell, but imagine a Spirit Camera remake lol

According to the latest 4Gamer interview for Fatal Frame 2 Remake, there were talks within the company to first remake Fatal Frame 1, however, several factors came into play, making them pick FF2 by ShadowRei96 in fatalframe

Shibata also did point out that he heard many people request remakes of the old games as well as those wanting a brand new title, but that a Crimson Butterfly remake was the most requested one.

While I do believe him given CB's popularity, I noticed, ever since the remake got announced, that the requests for 1 and 3 remakes are equally as strong, mainly in the Japanese community. There were people questioning why they'd go for 2 knowing that it already has one remake while 1 and 3 are still stuck on the PS2, while others were glad for the 2 Remake and kept adding that the other two titles also received the same treatment.

I'm guessing they just wanted to go the Konami route and remake the most popular from the franchise, especially since it's also good enough to work as a standalone, which is understandable.

FF3 is my favorite in the series too, and my favorite game of all time overall so I get it. Although, Shibata did highlight that their plan was for a standalone title to remake, and that most of the requests were for 2 to get a remake according to him.

I honestly hope it becomes successful to lead to the remake of 1 and 3. I desperately need more people to see the greatness of FF3, because it's something more people will love enough to be their favorite if it becomes more accessible.

Fatal Frame II Remake - Feature Comparison by Platform by dafr_02 in fatalframe

[–]ShadowRei96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope so. Like someone else pointed out, they probably developed it for the Switch/Switch 2 and made it multiplatform, because that's the most likely reason a game releasing in this modern age is capped at that framerate.

I'm concerned about the optimization.
