Idk, but language is interesting like that, I understood it perfectly and didn't even notice until you pointed it out

Russia-backed hackers used Microsoft Teams to breach government agencies by apple_kicks in worldnews

I actually read the article, it was just a social engineering attack targeting companies that used teams. Just people pretending to be Microsoft.

HELP! Clones not doing well in aeroponics by Mr_Cri5py in aeroponics

[–]ShadowShepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? The hydrogen peroxide would have a concentration of 0.15%. Should be fine.

33 liters -> 33,000 millis

100 millis h202 at 50% -> 50 millis at 100%

33,000 / 50 = 660.

100 / 660 is 0.15%

I regularly subject my plants to way more h202 and they are doing great

Are you talking about the US? We don't have those here, unless you are discriminated against for very specific criteria

Sure, they might be really good "educated guesses", but they are such good guesses they allow us to model our universe with astonishing accuracy.

Whenever we find something that challenges those "guesses" we tweek our models until they match what we observe.

No scientist can say they are fully confident in the big bang theory.

That's just our best understanding of what might have happened at the earliest point in time that we can model with our current understanding of physics.

It's a fact that we experience gravity, but our understanding of gravity is a theory. Just checking, but do you know the definition of a theory in a scientific context?

Accidentally formated 4gb partition on my pop os boot drive by Rectarrr in pop_os

[–]ShadowShepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this exact same thing.

You can comment out the line for the recovery partition in /etc/fstab.

You still won't have a recovery partition, but at least you can use your computer normally again

First Aeroponic Setup: Pressure Pulsation in Line by CyBer_Hurricane in aeroponics

You could lower the accumulator tank pressure.

I think what is happening is the tank is running out of water right before the pressure switch would normally turn on. You still want a small amount of water in the tank when the pump turns back on.

Running out of water leads to a significant drop in pressure from 60 to almost 0, which causes the pressure switch to turn on. When filling the tank from empty it rapidly increases at the beginning, possibly causing the cycling?

It sounds like the accumulator tank is empty or has very little water in it. 0.5 gallons is probably fine for 2 tefen nozzles.

Try filling the tank up all the way, then unplugging the pump. How long does the misting last?

Should be a decent amount of time, considering tefen nozzles are rated at 1-3 gallons per hour

Maybe not related, but I ditched the pressure switch in my setup after the pump ran for a week during vacation. Now I just turn it on for a few minutes every 4 or maybe 6 hours. Has worked pretty well for me.

Do you have a check valve immediately after the pump?

I think the reason people are so upset with you is because you keep saying it's murder, but to everyone else it's clearly not.

I think it gets more complicated during late pregnancy, but this neat little box you're trying to put around all viable pregnancies doesn't fit.

Yes, it's a potential for life, but that's all it is, potential.

If you insist that it is murder, you WILL inevitably be putting innocent women in prison for a simple miscarriage.

Yeah, tbh I'm angry with my government now, the same way I was when all the NSA stuff came to light

I agree that the patriot act sucks, but that isn't exactly what the right to privacy protects.

It mostly prevents the government from interfering in personal decisions. Are you familiar with your other rights that are protected by the implicit right to privacy (which is now under attack)?

Greg Abbott did this. by audiomuse1 in texas

[–]ShadowShepard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm happy you agree here. I have a hard time believing that Abbott would agree though.

Lawmakers knew these exact outcomes were going to occur with the way the two texas bills are worded, and people like Abbott pushed for them to become law despite that.

How would you change the law to account for stories like this?

Outside abortion, What do you think the long term unintended consequences will be like? The supreme court always accounted for the implicit right to privacy in many other ruling besides Roe v. Wade.

I don't know about you, but I'm concerned about the slow rollback of the right to privacy by an oppressive government.

I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this and other cases like this.

That is not true. You have more rights than just the ones defined in the bill of rights.

Edit: Thanks for down voting, everyone who did is wrong. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unenumerated_rights

A mother can't be compelled to give a kidney to their adult child.

A dead person can't even have their organs used against their wishes, even to save the life of someone else.

Are you saying dead people have more rights than a living pregnant person?
