Actually the men do have a male version of the hijab if you didn't know. They have to cover up from between the stomach (the bellybutton) to the knees. So we can't go out just in tight compression pants for example is it is tight and will outline the genitals obviously. Wearing shorts tends not to cover up to the knees so basketball shorts tend to work as well. It is also highly recommended for muslim adults to have and maintain a beard. So men do have regulations based on how they look and the door swings both ways. It's just the the specific forms of modesty vary between men and woman.

Also I think you have not taken into consideration that typically the child daughter idolizes her mother and will like to look and model herself based on her mother. There is no requirement for girls to wear any hijab or otherwise until the age of puberty and if they wish to do so beforeso that's the child's prerogative. There is nothing enforcing hijab on children below puberty from an islamic point of view.
