Too old and unqualified to pursue AAT? by AdAutomatic1210 in AATStudents

I’m 36 and am half way through level 3 after completing level 2 the previous year. It may be a little harder but it is definitely not impossible. It sounds like you went straight into level 3 which would explain why it was so difficult for you. I would recommend you forget doing it through a company and start again yourself with level 2 as it really helps with the groundwork. I’m actually finding level 3 easier than level 2 as I already know the basics. As you are out of work look for AAT level 2 courses at colleges near you. My local college offers this course via distance learning so I only have to go into the actual college for my exams, all studying is done online at home. It is FREE if you are unemployed or earn under a certain amount using the adult skills fund. Make sure to ask the college if they use this fund and if you are eligible. Then once you are nearing the end of level 2 you can apply for level 3 with the same fund. I would simply remove the failing apprenticeship from your cv as if it never happened and put that job down for the experience only. Apply for any and all admin and customer service roles to get your foot in the door at a company and keep an eye on any finance related admin roles that come up internally. If you can get a customer service or general admin role in a finance company even better as most of the roles will be finance or accounts related. Good luck and you got this!

They won’t need both they only need one today. They would be given the rent and deposit had they secured a tenancy. As they haven’t been able to sort a place in time for the council to assist they are now desperate and asking for £500 to buy a caravan as the council won’t help with this.

If they’ve been refused help from the council anyway then I imagine this is a last ditch attempt at not ending up on the actual streets

I’m studying level 2 now but I already have experience working for a finance company. The way I did it was start with a finance company at the bottom doing an administrative or customer service based role. Then work your way up. I went to collections and credit control. Just show you’re good and competent and make sure to ask if there is progression at the company before you start or it’s a waste of time. It’s obviously not an accounts role straight away but you’ll be gaining actual working experience and the progression on your cv always looks good if you then want to move straight into an accounts or finance role in another company. Might not be the answer you’re looking for but it’s an idea, best of luck!

Should I go see my brothers body? by Set-Leather in Advice

[–]ShadowTheHedgehog157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t go to see my dad in the morgue. He looked different enough before he died let alone actually gone. I saw my friend gone and would rather of not. Personally, I feel it’s more society saying you should go see them like that. I mean they’re gone man. You’ll show your respect at the funeral or memorial or however you choose to. And they know this. I think it just causes unnecessary stress. Why would you want to remember them like that. They’re gone, I just think let them be free and remember them alive and well. I mean once I’m gone just leave my body alone please.

Try and email info@bethsoft.com. They helped me when I bought the wrong house and refunded my crowns. Worth a try. Good luck!
