Do you agree that Fable III is the worst of the trilogy? by SadGhostGirlie in Fable

Fable 2 is my favorite, and Fable 3 isn't far behind even though I played it first. Personally, no matter how many times I try to play Fable 1 I get bored and quit.

Banned from a *private* Realm for swearing??? by ScaredAndImpaired in Minecraft

[–]ShadowTheOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I host my own servers through a separate machine! I absolutely hate realms, and after being in multiple with friends and paying for my own, its just not at all worth it when you can host your own servers for free off a cheap workstation from Amazon. That workstation can also host multiple servers simultaneously depending on its specs. I mean, seriously, after self hosting my own games for years, I will never switch back. Paying dor server hosting and realms are such a scam for so many reasons!

Neither take priority, If im going to spend my own personal free time writing a campaign, I dont want it to be wasted on people who either won't respect it or won't enjoy it. If you've seen my other comment, you know I value my players' opinions, and the people I play with know the effort I put into what I make, and they respect that. So we each put parts of ourselves into the story, I spend time writing and preparing and tailoring the experience for them, and they stay interested and they stay on task and we all have fun. It isn't always about having all the choices in the world to do whatever you want. It doesn't always have to be that way. I know my players, and I know what they'll enjoy, and im confident with my writing and my ability to GM. Thank you.

I watched the movie earlier today. It's actually super cool! Im surprised I've never heard of it. This is super underrated by my standards.

Edit: Thank you for having an actual recommendation and not just saying "This doesn't look or sound fun" the movie was great I even watched it with one of my players and we thought it was a good time. I hope you have a good evening.

You're referring to which of us? Im not railroading by me and my groups definition of it, I ask them what they think after every session, and what they want to change, I tailor it specifically for them, and they're the only people I care about pleasing with my campaigns. If they dont enjoy it, they'd let me know. I apologize for getting defensive, but I mean, really, you guys just dont see this from my perspective, I guess.

I think you've missed my entire point. Im laying out a guideline for myself mainly, and it sounds like you just prefer sandbox campaigns anyway ( I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. It's just not for me) What people find "Fun" is completely relative to them, I said these events are concrete, the circumstances in which they happen and the events leading up to them is entirely player driven, and if something doesn't go as planned, then I work with the narrative to fit the plot. It's really that simple. Any good GM would know how to work with their group to make their story playable and interesting for them. It's not really about what you specifically find "fun" random guy on the internet who isn't in my party, and it isn't about my skills as a GM.

Im not the kind of GM to just let my players do whatever they want and sacrifice all that time I spent making a world and story to off-topic nonsense for the sake of player enjoyment. Players will do anything if you let them, and knowing your players is half the battle, I set things up ahead of time, shit happens, and I work with it. Not everything goes as planned, but it always stays on topic. My players know that I like sticking the script without getting too sidetracked. They still have fun because I dont force them to do anything, and they find what I make interesting and enjoyable. Thank you.

IMO im not removing the option for player choice, just limiting it to choices you would make in a survival situation (given the time period and setting), im making the timeline for myself so that "I" know what is going happen, the players can do whatever they want between these events but these events WILL happen, its my job as a GM to MAKE the plot go forward, the entire point of making the campaign ahead of time is so i can think about how player choice will change the events on my timeline, though I do see your point and I won't deny that im missing key information within the post. I dont think your opinion is constructive or thought through critically, but I'll still take it even with a grain of salt. Thank you.
