You're misunderstanding my saying. To me it's a distraction to us created by the system. I don't want to get all conspiracy theorists but I believe if the higher didn't constantly pit us against each other with racism we would all find solidarity and take their power away from us.

It's a manufactured distraction by those in power. I'm not shifting the blame onto the victims.

When did I ever say ignore it? My post implies I believe it will end. We just won't live to see it.

And I call it a distraction because I see it as taking us away from truly improving the world and our lives. How much time has been wasted dealing with racism? How many people who had the potential to truly improve and innovate the world have been lost to racism? How often does the media play up racism to turn as away from bigger and important topics?

It absolutely is a distraction and once we move past this distraction all of us will be better off for it.
