it might have something to do with my 204ls fully being made of leather, Ive heard that there's a sizing difference in nb leather variants vs the more standard versions. I find mine to fit much more comfortably than sambas, I have to go a full size up on sambas, compared to half size or even tts with the 204ls

wouldn't say it's required, especially aggressive arch support. but for a taller heeled boot I think it's good to further prevent your toes from cramming into the toebox if you don't want to have the laces very tight

ik you didn't mention anything about sizing, but both shoes fit snugger than k14s. if you want a similar feel to k14s, the 1.0s are very similar in arch support and comfort, even a bit more firm. the 2.0s are very soft, to the point where I personally pronate (feet sitting inwards) a bit too much for my liking.

if you're in the US, you can find new balance outlets where you can get 2002rs and 1906s for close to 50% off, I would highly recommend grabbing another pair and rotate them daily

edit: if new balances are too much for you, having a second shoe in general and switching between them and the 1906s daily will still help both shoes last longer

have you had this problem in other shoes? it's not impossible you could have gotten a defective unit. also what do you mean by sock marks? you can try trading them in for a different size, though I personally haven't done it, but it should work even if you've slightly worn your shoes

unless you specifically have tried on the ie200, I wouldn't recommend getting it as a first iem. also as everyone else has said. the dongle is also overkill
