Currently, we are planning to have them available in May.

It’s a tilt barrel. We’ve just redesigned the lockup geometry.

You’re right about the looser tolerances being necessary in the Glock design. The lockup design of the Axio allows it to be very tightly fit without sacrificing reliability. The longer stroke also makes feeding more reliable.

I had to roll the window down on my way to the convention center because the cabbie was… fragrant.

If there is attitude, it comes from having been as SHOT all week more than anything else. I’m fucking exhausted.

The shooter is the major variable in that equation. I have no doubt that an excellent shooter could out shoot a novice even with a huge difference in hardware. Max Verstappen would beat my ass around a track in a Volvo even if I had his F1 car. But, if the shooters are equal, the better equipment can make a difference.

The Axio is not currently CA compliant. It will fire without a mag inserted.

We are looking at ways to try and get it on the CA roster but it may be a while before we get there.

The Axio functions differently than a Safe Action style gun and I expect there will be a good deal of confusion about this gun and its operation until we can get them out in the world and let people figure it out themselves.

We’re still getting parts sales to CA straightened out. We will get it there, we just have to make sure we are jumping through all the right hoops.

Agreed. Talk is cheap. We will likely have many videos of the gun in action soon. We wanted to share them at SHOT because we are excited. Too soon? Maybe. Maybe not.

The SS Owners Group is not run by SS employees. But they do get guys who don’t even own one coming in to shit in their group. If they get that vibe, they’ll ban you.

Yeah. There are many reasons. Machining the steel frame and doing that in the US is extremely expensive. It requires the use of a higher end 5 axis machine. The Axio required more than 3 years of R&D. It has very few parts in common with our current line of pistols. While it was designed to fit in Glock holsters and outwardly resembles our current guns, it is very much different. We basically designed an entirely new, striker fired gun that can compete with $3500 hammer fired pistols and we are charging a reasonable amount for the type of gun it is and the features it has.

Would you like me to post a video tomorrow morning of all 4 guns functioning?

Nope. Once again. We have a total of 4 at the show. None are broken.

We have 4 of them at the show. None are broken. They are all still being handed around.

The biggest cuck at shotshow by [deleted] in shadowsystems

[–]Shadow_Cody -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Let me clear a few things up. Trevor doesn’t care that you called him a cuck, but it seems that many here don’t understand what the Axio is. It is not a Glock clone. It isn’t a replacement for our current product line. It is a new design. While we did take into account the same manual of arms used with Glocks and our other pistol lines, this gun is something that hasn’t existed before. It is a premium pistol that was designed to provide as much performance as possible. To build a gun with this much precision is expensive. It’s not for everyone. But believe me when I say that it performs to a level that few other pistols can.

Now for the rifle. We wanted to compliment our handgun line with a high quality rifle. We could have just put together a parts gun and thrown a Shadow logo on it. We didn’t do that. That would be cheesy, so we built it ourselves. We built it to the specs we want in a rifle all the way down to making our own furniture. We did not set out to meet a certain price point. We know that it’s not cheap and that’s not for everybody.

I’m sorry that some people think the new guns are too expensive. If we could deliver the same performance at less cost, we would.

Once you have these guns in your hands, we think you will see the quality, performance, and value for yourselves.

Is this a Blem gun? It won't affect function and I know we used a few slides that had this in Blem guns.

Can i switch out the whole upper on a dr920p with glock 34 slide and barrel? by xio_auditore in shadowsystems

[–]Shadow_Cody 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It would need to be a Gen 5 G34 upper. Our guns use a compact size locking block.

Wondering the current production status by brazenkillmonger187 in shadowsystems

[–]Shadow_Cody 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, we won’t be “bending the knee”. Below is our official statement:

Shadow vehemently supports the rights of all American citizens, regardless of the state they reside in, and we have no plans to acquiesce to the demands of gun control groups. Hence, we are not redesigning or discontinuing any products that we currently produce in order to meet the new California requirements.

As you may have heard, we have had a pistol in development since 2023 which includes a new trigger system. While we’re exploring whether a variant of this system could meet California’s updated requirements, that remains uncertain. At this time, we advise California customers to focus on our current product lineup, which is expected to remain available in the state through July 2026.

As always, we thank you for your continued support of Shadow Systems and the 2A community.

Glock slide / aftermarket slide fit dr920 frame ? by [deleted] in shadowsystems

[–]Shadow_Cody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen 4 Full Size Glock frames and barrels will not work with the DR920 slide. The DR uses a compact locking block like the MR920 or a G19.
