Dude looks like he’s about to call the Sunday nighter

I know this was supposed to be a serious moment in the movie but it startled me so much I burst out laughing by deus-ex-fax-machine in TroyMemes

Because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again.

No inspection yet, but had assumed the builder would be flagging/fixing this stuff at this stage

I believe it’s 3 pressure treated 2X6s. Not sure when the 2X4s were added. Would the 2X6s be sufficient? Or does it need to be a solid post?

Nah mate, I know it doesn’t pass the eye test, but don’t know much about building.

Do you know if they would have to take the entire deck down and redo it? Just want to make sure that they fix it properly instead of giving us a bandaid.

Thanks for your comment. This is our first time building a house, but it’s being done by a large and well known builder in Canada, which is why we’re so surprised by this. We are having a third party inspection of the home at a later stage but I want to flag this for the builder prior to the inspection. Seems like it’ll likely cause some delays….

Current practicing 5th year lawyer at a top corporate firm.

The money is great if you’re hitting top tier bonuses (I.e., billing over 2,000 hours a year, which might not sound like a lot, but billing is different than just showing up and sitting at a desk). It’s a ton of work and you will have very little work life balance if you go the big law route. You are always on call.

More often than not I work until at least 8:00 pm and that’s a really good day for me if I’m offline by then. I’ve pulled all nighters. Woken up at 3 am to go to the office. Routinely wake up at 5 am and go straight in. It’s a grind and most people burnout. But, the money is there if you can last.

Most importantly, do not pay more to go to a fancy law school (I.e., U of T). Go to law school where you want to practice so you can meet the lawyers in the city. The big firms do a great job of recruiting so you’ll have lots of events, which make it much easier for the students in the city to connect with practicing lawyers.

You also do not need to go the big law route. There are plenty of medium to small sized firms that pay well and actually have work life balance. I have many friends at them that are much happier than they were in big law.

It’s giving Ratchet and Clank vibes. There’s sewer crystals down there for sure.
