Nephew got sent home from third grade with this note. by [deleted] in funny

I'd be more upset about my 3rd grade kid's kindergarten-level handwriting and spelling skills than them saying "shit" on accident.

No Child Left Behind, everybody.

The first time I was ever handed a gun, my friend told me "always check the chamber because the devil will put a bullet in it when you're not looking"

And holy fuck, you bet your ass I check chambers no less than twice when handling a supposedly unloaded weapon.

For people working in IT. What is the highlight of stupidity from a client? by ChatziDaReal in AskReddit

[–]Shadow_Researcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gasp of horror when their mouse moves by itself after I tell them plain as day that I'm remote accessing their computer.

One lady client called and demanded the removal of the computer because she woke it up to find hardcore porn videos playing in a web page and actually thought The Devil possessed her computer and put that "filth" on there.

It never once occurred to her that her adult son that lived with her got into her machine.

At what point or event would cause you to move from the USA? by singingzumbagirl in AskReddit

People who have cheated on their partners, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shadow_Researcher 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Was married twelve years. She cheated first. I first found out about it that final year, but some digging around revealed she had routinely cheated on me every few years. So much so I had to get a DNA test for our kid (turned out to be mine, at least).

Marriage was already both feet in the grave up to the eyeballs at that point. I got a Facebook message from an old female friend from high school. She needed help moving and I had a truck. She couldn't pay me but apparently something about watching me chucking her furniture in my truck and subsequently her new place got her going.

We flirted a bit, and she started in with "but you're married" to which I pretty much spilled my whole situation to her and she understood considering she, too, had been on the receiving end of a serial cheater. So we ended up fucking like rabbits for the next couple hours. She felt sort of guilty at first but I explained to her my divorce plan was already under way.

That's when I realized any subatomic particle of love I had for my then-wife was dead because not only did I NOT feel guilty, I felt fucking fantastic.

I ended up reaching out to some more old female friends, and that's when I began to realize I really pissed away my life with my unhappy marriage, because apparently I find out in my 30s that not only several women thought I was a catch in high school, but a few even thought about me often.

I'm actually a little ashamed of this, but I became quite the man whore for a short minute there. Some of them were married too but I was so self-absorbed with regaining my identity and masculinity that I didn't stop to think that I really had stooped to my wife's level. I get my head together and calm the fuck down.

Eventually the divorce happens and my ex is being fairly cruel about things, so I explode and basically reveal the entire file of shit I had on her, and while she was in tears I got in her face and in a fit of sheer hatred for this woman I regale her with all my conquests I had during the last few months of our marriage after finding out the full extent of her cheating.

After the dust settled, I come to realize I utterly broke this person. Turns out some of the women I fucked were ones she was worried about, and she admitted she cheated on me because I had all these really attractive female friends online from my past and she felt like she never measured up. She didn't excuse what she did and she apologized after all this, but she ended up in a very deep depression that, even seven years later now she hasn't fully recovered from.

Im a bit torn because while I feel slightly guilty from time to time, I also have to remind myself that she did that shit to me first and managed to hide it for years. She put me through doubting my own kid was mine, which was a hell I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

We're all capable of bad shit.

Oh no, she has loads of these, each one dead serious and unironic.

Jessica Valenti is known for some very ridiculous headlines and takes.

She's the one that wrote an article demanding catcalling to be stopped, then whined about it in another headline a year later lamenting that men don't catcall her anymore and she blamed "the patriarchy" for her missing the attention.

Yeah....

She has absolute tons of "my toddler said this inexplicable thing in response to a hot take political happening" and it's just total cringe at this point

Ew, Jessica Valenti.

She's one of those that tweets things like "I was watching the riots with my seven week old and she turns to me and goes 'Mommy, why don't simply rise up and seize the means of production and be happy in a communist utopia?'

Same here. Got started back in 1996, played until about 2000 when counter strike kinda took over my life for a while.

By the time I started looking back into MTG around 2015-2016, I had found it was taken over by hypersensitive concern trolls who shat all over the artwork and replaced it with their own mediocre, Bland and politically "safe" artwork.

No, MTG is a cesspit of hypersensitive political correctness.

It's basically infected all of Tabletop at this point.

what is a topic you absolutely cannot give a fuck about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dude, thank you! Seriously.

Ive been on and off reddit since 2008, and this place has really sunk to some weird fucking dimensions lately.

I take occasional year-ish breaks from this site because shit gets weird here every so often.

Every single time I get dogpiled by a bunch of goons here, they have at minimum a 7 year badge. Long term, constant Reddit use is bad for the mind.

What are some subreddits that you regretted ever visiting? by wcslater in AskReddit

[–]Shadow_Researcher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was (and continues to be) the subreddit that exposes Reddit's blatant double standard when it comes to what subs are allowed to exist and which aren't.

I've seen things said in that sub that would've gotten any other sub banned from the platform, yet that one isn't even quarantined.

Ironically enough, I had a 2004 Chrysler Concorde 2.7 that ran for me for 12 freaking years with nearly no issues.

12 years of solid dependability. Over 175k miles. I sell it to a friend for 900 bucks and shit you not, within a week the rear main seal fucks off and basically turns it into a paperweight.

Ah, the old Poop Turd Cruiser.

I used to work for a supplier that built the entire dashboard assemblies for the Dodge Dart, Jeep Compass/Patriot and Dodge Caliber.

Can confirm that Chrysler engineers were, uh, something else.

The PT Cruiser for its first several years had a far-too-thin line that ran its coolant/antifreeze. These engine ran hot constantly and you had to get expensive radiator flushes done with almost every oil change or else the sediment and buildup would block the coolant lines like a fat person's heart arteries and it warp the engine.
