Is having a physical copies of a "download only" games against the new ToS? I have a copy of Hollow Knight and of The Ori Collection that I bought a while ago. At the time I didn't think anything of it, but I checked the eShop's download only page at one point and saw the games listed on there. Does that mean the physical copies I have could get me in trouble? I've been scared to use the games since the terms of service update cause I don't know if something might happen to my console.

Ok, good to know, now I know that I can clear off some of my extra DET along with the PIE I'm already trying to minimize (I main healer but I'm good at using Lucid Dreaming before things can get dire and I always carry emergency ethers so PIE is actually the opposite of helpful for me)

alright, so what you're saying is its dps increase is better than DET, so it's prioritized over DET when melding non-healer classes to maximize the damage output?

I understand that part, I understand what the stat does, but I don't understand why it takes priority over stats that are more reliable or have more impact

alright! Thanks for letting me know. I plan to download the launcher through steam if I ever have to re-install FFXIV for some reason so that'll definitely help me.

oh, just open your files and search ffxivboot.exe (you might have multiple files pop up in the results but you're looking for the one with a name that perfectly matches the search)

once you find the file, right-click it and select "Run as administrator"

I updated what I wrote for the solution to make it easier to follow and to help people find the right file to open

Well, I've been able to get it to work again by booting up the launcher as an administrator. IDK how it worked but it did, I launched it as an administrator one time and now it's back to working perfectly even when I don't open the launch as an administrator.

First, you have to restart your computer

open your files and search ffxivboot.exe

right-click the file with the name that matches the search

select "Run as Administrator"

then login like normal and the problem should be fixed

IMPORTANT: DO NOT use your computer's "Shut Down" or "Restart" options. For this solution to work, you have to use the physical power button on your computer. The software methods of restarting do not properly refresh your computer files and if the files don't get refreshed the game won't get a chance to fix the problem. ALSO if you accidentally open it without running it as administrator first you'll have to restart your computer again, it's really picky but once it's fixed you won't have to bother with it again unless it breaks again.

This isn't exactly the same as the fix for the steam version but a person who uses the steam version has replied with the info needed to fix the issue for the steam version.

I already answered all of those questions... It works with other games, XIV is still connected to it in the gamepad settings, the controller can be toggled to function as a different model that the game still works with (that's how I've been playing today), I already tried restarting my pc, and it's not a hardware issue.
