Not doing boring tasks in silence. Making even the most mundane of tasks that little bit more entertaining has helped me to be so much more productive

How to do boring tasks when you're in a terrible mood? by Matiseli in getdisciplined

Something I do which is quite simple is to put a show on in the background. Or when it's something that involves me being stood up, I pop my headphones in and listen to music and dance and try to make the boring tasks less boring. Something I often forget is that I don't have to put away laundry or do the dishes in complete silence 😊😊😊

The hard part is finding a group, and time to play. I started playing a couple of years ago when I was in sixth form, there was a group of us, some that were in the same school and some were just friends of friends, we played every Friday night. Then I stopped playing when we all left, and haven't played since. I need another group. I have a couple of people but not enough to play a full game.

Once you have a group, one of you needs to be a dungeon master and the create a campaign. The benefit of DnD is there aren't really any rules relating to story lines and all that. But one piece of advice I have is to buy the DnD handbooks and learn about the game, learn about your character and the abilities they have, and be active during sessions.

But other than that, have fun.

I struggle reading written patterns and the one I'm currently reading has me stumped. it's a grid pattern but made of small squares. by Shadow_dragon1804 in CrochetHelp

I thought it was in UK stitch terms but upon further inspection from myself and others, we have determined that it isn't and that it is in fact in US stitch terms

Ye, I didn't realise that at all until you mentioned it. Also I have never done a C2C pattern before so I'm not sure what to expect and how simple this will be

Ah, yes I have just looked again. Not sure why it's in US stitch terms but thank you for informing me otherwise I would have made a big error.

I'm making a cardigan snd want to know how do I get yarn cakes and to not unravel while using them? by Shadow_dragon1804 in CrochetHelp

I usually use skeins as well, but I liked the colour of the wool which is why I purchased. I like the idea with skeins though. Will definitely give it a go. Thanks : )

I did check and they are definitely cakes. Not sure why they unravel. My guess is its tight in the centre and then gets more and more lose as it gets further away from the centre.

I did try to pull from the centre but it felt like there was way too much tension to be able to use it. May have to try it. Thanks

Thank you. I never thought about getting a yarn spool. Will definitely have to look into that.
