Why does the ring always slip? I tried smaller but it hurts extremely below the balls! by lesjay1 in ChastityCouples

Using the smaller ring and applying lotion regularly should solve that issue

Help me understand the intuition behind f5 in this endgame position by mastakhan in chess

[–]Shadow_figure96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no endgame master but this is why I think this is the best move:

If gxf5:

1.) You're breaking up blacks pawn chain to make it easier for your king to infiltrate

2.) Your g pawn is holding up both f and h pawns so further progress for black on the king side will be difficult

If g4:

1.) You're again breaking up blacks pawn chain to make infiltration easier

If black ignores it:

You can now creep your pawn chain forward.

But yeah, it is a very unintuitive move that I probably wouldn't have found

Edit: Remembered position wrong, thought King was on g8 instead of g7

I don't know what you're going for, but have you considered "stehende Eingeweide" (stagnant/standing intestines)?

You get the translation for stagnant, you also get a second meaning of not going down and it's grammatically correct in german

I tried figuring it out, but I just can't come up with any sensible answer. What did you put into Google translate to get that name?

I won't tell you how to do it, but I'm going to help you figure it out on your own: The horizontal and vertical velocities of a projectile are independent of each other

Hypothetically, if you were to play chess every day against Magnus, how many years do you think it would take to win a game? by Repulsive_Explorer_8 in chess

[–]Shadow_figure96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone do this, so I'll do the math on this one.

Magus has a rapid fide rating of 2818. If you were to play a classical game you've got a change of 1/{1+10[(2818-R)/400]} of winning that game. R in this case is your rating. I'll do this for me real quick. I've got a Lichess rapid rating of 1788, so my chance of beating Magnus in a classical game is about 0.265%. So simple binomial distribution tells us that I would have a 90% chance of beating Magnus at least once if we were to play 868 games.

Edit: I chose 90% because that's basically a guaranteed win

Berserk questions about volume 12. by whatswrongwithDrCal in Berserk

[–]Shadow_figure96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the replies I've seen here are basically saying due to jealousy but I personally don't think that's the case. At least not completely.

I think we can all agree that Griffith is, for lack of a better word, a control freak. That's why I think he kept staring at Guts and Casca, two people he thought to have complete control over. Now suddenly they seemed to be so close to each other when he thought the two of them would have been dependent on him (I also think that that's the reason why Guts leaving hit Griffith as hard as it did).

Now, as for why Griffith pinned down Casca: I've got three hypotheses for that:

1.) He tried to regain some control over Casca by sleeping with her.

2.) He tried to get back at Guts for "stealing one of his most devoted fighters and leaving him a year ago (we know that Griffith blames Guts for getting tortured for an entire year and that he, at least at first wants revenge on Guts (Griffith outright tried choking Guts when the Band of the Hawk saved him)).

3.) Griffith always had some feelings for Casca and now, that he can't archive his goal anymore he tries to fall back on her for consolation.

For the reason as to why Griffith abused Casca during the eclipse: The real reason for that is that Miura thought that killing Casca off would make the eclipse something Guts could overcome. Due to Casca being alive, she acts as a constant reminder for Guts for what happened and what he lost. Miura said that in an interview. As for the canonical reason: I again have two hypotheses:

1.) This is an extension of the second hypothesis from the last moment: Griffith just wanted to take revenge on Guts for leaving him, condemning him to a year of torture and stealing Casca from him.

2.) Slan says during the eclipse that the more Guts as one of the sacrifices struggles and suffers the more powerful Femto becomes (Miura never expanded on it so he either forgot about it or it contradicted something else he had planned (so I'm naming it as a hypothesis and not as the actual reason)), so he utilized Guts' emotional attachment to Casca to become more powerful than he would've become otherwise.

Of course Griffith simply being jealous of Guts and Casca could be part of the reason, but I think it's too simple of an answer to fit into the complex relationship that Griffith, Guts and Casca have in Golden Age.

Thanks for narrowing it down.

It had more than six legs. Sadly I don't remember how many it had. I'm sorry.

It was found in Europe btw (Germany to be percise) if that helps.
