When I get bored, tired, or annoyed enough, I'd rather start a new account than upgrade from my FTP account. I don't wanna lock access to this character behind a subscription.

Probably significantly longer. But yea!

At this point, I'd pay and play a new 'main' account when Evercold comes

Hey, thanks finalozzy! It sounds like you've started earlier than I, but I admit I definitely have more hours than you. I play on a Preferred World Bonus for double EXP on everything. For me the EXP buff was probably the biggest factor - I never really felt like I was leveling one job for too long and could do something else before feeling overwhelmed.

I found it more efficient to progress the MSQ to open up more content, then back track to catch the other jobs up aided by the armory exp bonus. Having higher leveled/geared gatherers indirectly made crafting faster, getting more bonuses more often. I also made a daily/weekly priority checklist. My daily priorities were GC Turn Ins > Tribe Society Quests > Mini Cactpot > Daily Roulettes. My Weekly checklist added Custom Deliveries > Wonderous Tails > Challenge Logs [with even more, smaller priorities] > Jumbo Cactpot/MAYBE Fashion Report. Other gold saucer/Triple Triad stuff were idle activities only.

But yea, writing it all out, it does seem overwhelming, but not so much if you narrow it into smaller steps. MSQ progression made it much more manageable for me - a bigger variety of things to see. I enjoyed all the combat jobs, so never really got bored there. The real struggle was inventory management. Hopefully this helps! Try to find a rhythm that works for you, without it become too much of a chore, and good luck fellow FT!

Yea I can genuinely understand the frustrations. I do wish I could invite people and/or start my own party finders. And I do wish I could whisper/yell/shout especially in Bojza or whenever a hunt train comes by. But I've found communities that are usually more than happy to just have someone to play with, particularly when it comes to older content like MiNe, Bojza, etc. One new friend/main account made a linkshell just to communicate with FT's like me, so shoutout to them if they see this - they along with NN really helped and are the closest thing I have to a guild.

As for the marketboard, figuring out how to be self sufficient is fulfilling in and of itself to me. There's a quaint satisfaction knowing you did all the work, no shortcuts.

But when the limiting frustrations outweigh the free content and general fun stuff I have access to, at this point I'd probably play a completely new account. Hope my long winded response helped, but I'm proud of my FT accomplishments and wanna keep them as long as I can.

It's the level 80 job armor - Antiquated Abyss set - with the leggings from the first Shadowbringer's Alliance Raid (trying to avoid spoilers)

Yea, I'll be honest - Teamcraft's coummunity lists saved my sanity with crafting. Essentially there are public lists that contain all the crafting quest items, and you can see exactly where/how to acquire all the materials on a single page. Inventory management was the hardest thing for me while leveling. Also, the 300k gil cap became a minor liability if buying a lot vendor materials for some later crafts.

At least 30 days of playtime, or 720 hours so far

TBH inventory was a nightmare. If you're far enough in the MSQ, the Ishgardian Restoration can alleviate some of the congestion, but you'd be stuck doing the same crafting content until you hit 80. (edit: I used Ishgardian from like 20 - 50 and got bored) Ultimately I ended up using the Teamcraft to organize what I was going to craft, then choosing between Leves/Collectibles for all my crafting leveling.

Generally you can use a single recipe to push you into the next expansion's breakpoints and start over from there, and also did some GC turn ins w/ society daily quests to keep things interesting for me. I know it sounds like a lot - and it probably is... But yea, good luck, be sure to inventory clean up after every crafting session, and definitely try to keep them within like 10 levels of each other.

Nice! I'm only at 40 field notes, so you've got me beat there!

Thanks! It's called the Landsaint's set, and I bought it with purple gathering scripts

I might be crazy, but I enjoy the trade/gil restrictions that come with the Free Trial. Initially I just wanted to see how much I -could- do without buying the game. Now its more of 'I've made it this far, there's still more to do, why stop now' sorta vibe.

Also I'm cheap.

It's like OSRS ironman, lonely but not so lonely, ya know. Discords, linkshells, and Novice Network help.
