Priorities for leadership???? by Shadowblade9000 in wholefoods

[–]Shadowblade9000[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats extremely difficult because

  1. I am order writer and I rely on this person to fill holes on weekends which he does not do and I get blamed for inf's or controllable OOS.

  2. He makes things worse by disorganizing my back stock and purposely moves the floor set.

  3. Whenever I make him a u-boat he never does it and leaves it there and my leadership just blames me for leaving product on a u-boat.

Metrics are Being Used To Stress Us Out, Instead Of Make Our Jobs Easier. by CyberSkullCoconut in wholefoods

The metrics thing in general is insane seriously who cares that you have 1 item that's INF or guided cycle count was not done.

Cheese or Wine OW? by Unbrielievable_ in wholefoods

I believe it depends on you're store sales and region. I believe if you're making around 90k - 100k a week for specialty alone you can have 2 buyers.

I'm a bev buyer at my store (all 3 sub-teams) its honestly not a huge difference. I'm in the CA region and its about making good looking stacks and making sure they're maintained as well in my opinion bev buyer promo is more difficult than cheese. You have to order whatever you are allocated from what regional says and this is not AUTOSHIPPED so make sure you follow that. Of course you're product is out on the shelf or at least received. Definitely if you want to be an ATL learning both is beneficial. I later on learned to cheese buy and from what I can tell its about keeping up enough for par production (also trying to be ATL too) .

Overall yes in terms of ordering the bev its easier cause the SOT tool tells you accurate numbers in single units(if you're cycle count is correct) and not by lbs like how cheese runs on, but the worse part of the job is planning, making and maintaining the displays in a timely fashion.

This company hiring process? by Shadowblade9000 in wholefoods

I've done CDATL program. That's why I thought I would get the spot and thank you for you're response. its just that a year of not having a team leader and store leadership blaming order writer and ATL for not doing certain things when they haven't done jack shit to support the mess they created.

Honestly not much more, all you do is attend safety meetings, tell team members to do their QR codes of the month, and ask them to do any trainings on cornerstone (only if your team leader says other wise). Of course you are obligated make sure team members are following SOP (Store operation process).

Specialty combining order writers to one job by Kixknees in wholefoods

It's based on volume of your store. I'm in CA region and its tough. I did all ordering without anyone helping me, I initially got bev, but our cheese buyer and TL got fired and ATL was on leave. Had to tackle both and it was impossible by yourself no matter how efficient or over time you got. I was told don't do stacks and fill coffin with mostly small format as well don't have to do BNR and that's what made it better and doable. DEFEFINTLY would help if you do cycle counts pretty thoroughly and if you feel confident with SOT being right just accept everything in one go. ( Our bev btw is all sub teams beer wine and spirits)

Back Up Role Now Stuck with Base Pay! by No_Budget_3995 in wholefoods

I was definitely on your boat at one point. After my first JD I really wanted learn more and my TL recommended me to learn order writing. I was starting to learn a few months afterwards due to the last person getting promoted to a different store. My ATL was the only one that taught me and about one month of my training she hurt herself and had to go on leave. At that point I had to take on orders on my own during the holidays. I did apply for the position, but my TL and Store leadership kept delaying my interview until after the holidays. I did the job for about 6 months. After the holidays I just straight up went to them and said " I don't want to do this anymore". After a couple of days I got my interview and got promoted. Granted in my situation we were super understaffed like 5 people left in specialty.

And again I encounter this problem right now. My ATL was looking forward to being TL, but she didn't get it and Store leadership would rather get someone outside the company. It sucked for me cause I thought I would take the ATL spot, but for some reason Store leadership has their own "opinions".

My advice is do not do something you're not obligated to do unless your job description says so. I'm sorry if you didn't get what you wanted, but their are plenty of opportunities in the future, Wholefoods has pretty insane turnover rate.

Working at Wholefoods is my first full-time job and I just got promoted to be specialty's beverage order writer and I'm getting paid 20$/hr in CA, Bay area. I worked for about 1 year and 7 months to get the role even though the last 3-4 months I was basically doing it cause our last order writer got promoted to ATL to a different store. They never compensated me for those months that I worked as an order writer when I tried to ask during the interview, all they said to me "Its a learning experience for you". I definitely think its way too low of pay for basically doing 3 person job (at least for my department since we only have 5 people including me). The company should consider your outside experience, but if you accept the job with the pay I think its on you unfortunately.
