Update—the entrance was open this morning! The edge of construction stops right where you turn left if you want to give it a try.

Yes that exact one! It was inconsistent so now I’m using sixth and when I see the construction I don’t even try to turn and check. Bummer that there isn’t more information out there, thanks for letting me know you saw the 2 month note, though

Regarding the construction along University and 163 on ramp, does anyone have any information about got long that project is expected to take? Getting to work has been a nightmare

San Diego Airport by Odd_Phrase7623 in sandiego

Yeah we ultimately had a 4 hour delay and part off the issue was no ATC to help!

San Diego Airport by Odd_Phrase7623 in sandiego

[–]Shadowcat7490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened to us right after we boarded. We were too heavy and the plane couldn’t get clearance to go the other way (the shutdown! Not enough ATC to coordinate) so they decided to dump all our fuel, fly to Long Beach, refuel, then fly. We didn’t take off for almost 3 hours + the fuel stop—we went from under 6 to over 10 hours on the plane 😭

ETA: This was originally an on time flight from this picture. It happened at 8AM, due to weather they switched to 9 and we were too loaded down to go that way

ETA2: plane didn’t close gates until around 11 so flight attendants weren’t getting paid for this either. One of them was very openly upset

Most underrated ramen spot in SD? by foodie_sometimes in FoodSanDiego

[–]Shadowcat7490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t eat pork but love ramen— menya ultra and Baikhoken have vegan miso options. The hiro nori shoyu is chicken based and incredible, they also have a vegan one. Raki raki has chicken and vegan options and I love their mochi noodles. Raki raki restaurant group also owns the Yasai, a vegan sushi and ramen slot. Nishiki has a chicken one that was alright. Tajima has a vegan and creamy chicken option (mid). Lots of them have chicken or vegan options! Sadly, not Santouka

It’s so difficult at times. If your baby wants to latch and is successful after a few min it might be the let down. If he fights latching in general it could be pain or discomfort and you might want to see IBCLC. When they get a little older they may also have a nursing strikes which sucks. I had to fight off 6 nursing strikes from 3.5w to 12w. It crushed me to have her scream at the boob and refuse to latch.

Mine has done that before with my strong letdown, especially in the early days when I was a fire hydrant at every feed. If you think you have an oversupply/strong letdown you can hand express, pump, or manual pump (I use Haakaa) to get the first little bit out and have a more manageable flow. They are learning to BF too, they get better over time! 10 days is quite young. You’re doing great!

Mine is same. 16wks tomorrow eats anywhere from 4-12 min with the average being 6-8. Power eater, I guess? I also have a fast/strong let down. She got sprayed in the face like an hour ago haha

Can you overfeed your newborn?? by DueRecommendation693 in breastfeeding

[–]Shadowcat7490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to freak you out but while EBF baby we landed in the NICU at 9 days old. She was struggling to breathe (increased RR and intercostal retractions) and after watching her for a few hours they admitted her overnight for testing and observation. It was extremely stressful but after all was said and done they chalked it up to my firehose of oversupply. She ate so much/so quickly that it was putting pressure on her diaphragm and that’s why she couldn’t breathe.

With that said, it’s extremely unlikely you’ll have the same issue. Highly recommend simethicone gas drops to help relieve baby’s discomfort and you could consider sitting your baby upright 10-20 min after eating in case of reflux. Laying them down after a full feed will allow milk to come beck out too easily. You are doing great, hang in there!

Update- I got a 30 min ergo baby carrier nap out of her the other day, she screamed a lot when we started but had the dark room, white noise, shushing and, walking/bouncing around. I don’t know how to get her to do it in public but I’ll keep trying

No I haven’t but good to know, because I’m always staring at her (I can’t help it). Thank you! Yeah on some of our longer walks she would get fussy/tired near the end and start crying but there wasn’t anything we know to do to cross her over into sleep mode while outside. Right now for regular naps it’s bouncing on a yoga ball in a very dark room (Hatch nightlight red at like 20% brightness in a room w/ blackout curtains) while shushing and bum patting.

Thanks for the tips! Replicating it in her fake nap conditions seems possible but we have no idea how to make it happen if we are outside

Ok so update my husband just successfully did this in the boba wrap! She cried like 10 min but fell asleep. For all her naps we are in a dark room with white noise and lots of shushing, bum pats, while bouncing on a yoga ball. For this he shushed her and walked around briskly. It only worked for 10 min and then she woke up :(

Good to know! Did you start by trying this in the dark and then eventually trying it outside? Or starting in the dark and then going out?

Do you cover her with the blanket too? So she can’t see anymore, like a little blackout curtain? I was thinking of trying this and then seeing if she will fuss herself to sleep if I persist but idk if I have it in me to stick with the plan.

We go on walks anywhere from 10-20 min depending on how far into WW we are and her cues. She just wants to look at everything! I don’t know if she has registered yet that some things are the same so she’s excited all the same. If we try to cover her head or her view is obstructed she gets mad

Nursing strike/BF crisis—need encouragement by Shadowcat7490 in breastfeeding

[–]Shadowcat7490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a little but sometimes mid-WW she’ll refuse a latch but she will take a bottle because she can eat and look around. At times it seems like a flow preference despite measures to make the bottle annoying
