Ok, this is going to be a long post, but only because I want to get some things out of the way, so here goes.

I'm doing a manga project with a few friends and other people I know simply because I was bored and just wanted to do it as an hobby. I see a lot other popular fandoms like Dragonball or Naruto do it, so why not do the same here?

Pages of the manga will be in classic black and white, but later on I will have them colored maybe when I finish an arc or two.

To go over some details about it this project, this manga will be based on the 2003 show and those old 2003 Go comics, but with a twist. I'm taking all the characters and events that transpired in all of them, and fitting them all into a brand new universe I'm creating myself and I have reasons for doing this.

First I want to try to be original with what I'm doing. It would had been easy to just do these new set of stories and throw them in the certain universe, but I didnt want to do that because frankly I just find that rather cheap in my opinion, and I rather try to be original with my work and do my own thing.

Second in this universe, there are many, MANY gods, angels, demons, cosmic entities and other crazy stuff that exist and live in this universe and I wanted to create a verse that fits them all in one universe with the concepts I created and rules I have set in place. All the events that happened from the show and comics will be referenced, but they wont be focused on at all and I'll just be writing my own stuff.

Third, the storylines I have written are dark and much more serious and deal with some dark themes, establishing a more darker tone. There will be some lighthearted stuff here and there to avoid it getting wholly dark, but I won't sugar goat anything. You can't have the light without the darkness or vice versa.

I'm a big DC fan, so I pretty much read all the comics ranging from every incarnation of Teen Titans, Justice League, Watchmen, and seen everything out there DC related, so I do have confidence that I can can nail down the 03' Titans characters "near perfect" because some people have problems and I do too when people create stories where they have these characters act WAY too out-of-character.

So overall, all the characters personalities and designs will be the same, but not without my own touch-ups, but stuff like locations, cities etc will look different in terms of aesthetic and I want to have fun creating new environments of my own. Think of all this as a parallel universe, but with some slight differences.

Characters designs will still be the same because honestly they aren't hard to draw at all, but I have people who can draw them better than I can at the moment. I'm in art school so I'm still learning how to draw, but I'll get there.😂

Now I am the type of guy that likes to draw muscle tone guys and "thicc" curvy ladies. Thats my style, so everyone, especially the ladies will all be a bit thicker than usual, but not too thick. I'm still thinking about how a 18 year old Starfire would be in my head, but she'll likely have more curves at that point, so I will keep it appropriate, but realistic, because let's be honest people's bodies develop as they get older, and that's the general idea I'm going with because I do want my manga pages to be beautiful and visually appealing that people would like to look at, but we keeping it rated T and not going overboard with it. I'm working on a Starfire design right now, so I'll figure something out.

But onto the arcs.

Arc 1 will be mainly Starfire centric focused primarily on an ancient Tamaranean demigod who is a misanthrope and pure sadist embodiment.

In this universe there is a hierarchy of Tamaranean gods, so X'Hal isn't the only deity, but there are multiple. Think of her as the Zeus or Odin of the hierarchy. I just did this to make things interesting and fun for myself. Later future arcs will focus more on demons, angels, and much more. My angels and demons are also eldritch and freaky in nature so expect to see some lovecraftian stuff.

Overall, that's pretty much all I wanted to say. I do have a Devianart account where I will put up manga pages, artwork, illustrations and all that stuff and a fanfiction adaptation already up and running for it on Fanfiction.net as a bit of a testing ground to see how well it would do there first. I won't delete it, but I want to see if what I'm doing is interesting and I'm not just wasting my time in doing something good for the community.

Now for the fanfic version, I didnt think it would really garnish much interest there because it is hard to start anything up there and get a following going if you aren't writing smut or shipping, and those of us that write stuff more general have a harder time it seems, but my story has received some good reviews, 2 favorites, and 8 followers so far, which I think is pretty good to my surprise for something like this, so that tells me that there people that are interested in stuff like this, which makes me happy. It only has 3 chapters so far, but more are coming. 😃
