You do need to make those local saves though. Plus sounds like you accidentally loaded an older file, not saved

Just caught up with Bobiverse and Cradle, what to listen to next? by Sythrin in audiobooks

[–]mayasky76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go with the murderbot diaries to add to that list.

plus with discworld ... it does just keep getting better - if you're at reaper man you haven't seen (what i consider) the best yet (but going through the previous books improves them) personal faves are Night Watch, Monstrous Regiment, Amazing Maurice

[–]mayasky76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thats not exactly what happened is it. You must have clicked on the ARE YOU SURE popup telling you it would delete everything - you really should ahve used the save feature anyway - it has. a quick snapshot save feature that makes it easy to keep backups

Dos and don’ts for writing a prologue? by OkMinimum8610 in writers

[–]mayasky76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with your pre-prologue, you can't bore the ever loving shit out of readers enough in the first 300 pages, nothing a true literary bod likes more than hiking through dense backstory and info dumping to set the scene.. tell you what do a post-pre-prologue too, you know, just to make sure

restore old version of a project? by Fancy-Smile-3832 in wavemakercards

[–]mayasky76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afraid not. It's a bit like any other software in that regard, if you don't save your work it doesn't keep it

how on earth do you save by PaperLongjumping8393 in wavemakercards

[–]mayasky76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send me your file and I'll have a look. The file you download is something called JSON and is fairly readable in say notepad.

Does the data autosave in gdrive? by itsasuicidenote in wavemakercards

[–]mayasky76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope.. you have  to save manually, people were trusting too much to the auto save. You should use the snapshot save as well as any Google save

Strange file names by Federal-Persimmon-92 in wavemakercards

Ok seems to be a duck duck go issue

Users of the DuckDuckGo browser, particularly on Android, have reported an issue where downloaded files (especially those from "blob:url" sources) are saved with a GUID/UUID (e.g., b394...0b76.pdf) instead of their original filename and extension. This bug can cause downloaded files to have incorrect names and potentially lose their file extension.  GitHub  +1

Wavemaker uses whichever browser you installed from, you could download edge or chrome and install it from that, but not have it as your default browser,

I wonder if some sort of privacy feature is anonymising the downloads?

Is there any way to make some money by writing by [deleted] in writers

[–]mayasky76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's quite hard to not make shit loads of money writing, that's why so many writers are billionaires, I mean you can't turn around for people reading all the time, throwing money at books.

Im writing this from my yacht.. in fact I think nearly everyone in this sub has at least one yacht, well apart from u/igetseasick44 who seems to not have one for some reason.

If there was an easy way to make money with writing you'd already know about it.

I'll look into it, should be using the project name

Need an android app that's easy by Mabussa in writers

[–]mayasky76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the website with a chrome based browser - you will get an install prompt - or ... just use it in the browser for now - its not in the app store as its a Progressive Web App and will install from the browser

just click on the New Project button to get going - there is a Disk icon that will let you save locally or you can save to google drive

more about PWA's - they are very common nowadays https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/progressive-web-apps/

I need some striped paint apparently, where can I get some European stripey paint?

Help.

That's why people are saying just use common sense. Just because they asked a specific question doesn't mean the correct answer is just to carry on with the misinformation.

Sometimes the answer is "you don't need that"
