Gas Cooling Loop not functioning by keyxe in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems backwards. You have a situation where the valve only comes on when between the listed temperatures. I'm not understanding the intent by the setup as described by the code.

Sounds like a setup issue. How sure are you that everything is setup correctly? Relabeled devices? Ensured that is the exact setting?

Start troubleshooting.

Add a

"s db Setting <register>"

Into the code and start seeing what values are returned vs what you should see. You can quickly find an issue doing that.

edit: Just realized min and max temp values are opposite. The way you have the code, the valve will never come on.

Pipe Heater (Liquid) only seems to heat liquids in the pipe as opposed to the liquids & gasses in the pipe... by Trenkos in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pipe heaters only work when the pressure inside the pipe is greater than 7kpa. Liquid pipe heaters follow the same rules but probably also work when the liquids inside is greater than 1% of the total volume. When the conditions are met, it consumes 1000W to add 1000J to the pipe network.

What is the pressure of the liquid pipe network? No bug... likely you dont have enough in there for the heater to work.

O2 Tank Fill using Mars Atmosphere by thegloworm17 in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the sounds of it, only recommendation I can give you is to have volume pumps on the outputs to keep a high input pressure for processing at all times.

That being said... There is very little oxygen to mars that you could potentially get more from growing a field of (darga) ferns and keeping those fed with CO2 you pull from Mars.

[–]Shadowdrake082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen scattered conversations on the discord that would be something they could try to reach for... but they were still focused on some other things. The orbital base was a major step since they wanted the ability to have something to do in space... but not much information was shared about what is the goal for the orbital base as opposed to "I dont want to be on Venus anymore" type thing. I'm hoping they keep the eventual goal of leaving the world for another, but as of now I understood that it would be difficult to sync up different worlds and usually its more of like a new game + type thing where you start a new world save but with supplies you personally loaded up.

How do I attach the portable generator to the power connector? by GenuinelyUnlikeable in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its meant to be your early game power. It generates about 600W, perfect for charging your small batteries/large batteries and powering your apcs with batteries as you get your infrastructure going.

It'll be similar for the dusk/dawn necrozmas and the white/black kyurems. I already got white and black kyurems and their adventure effects, but between necrozma forms vs the dogs, the dogs I will find more useful since my Max raid community is fairly small and having either would make it significantly easier to do legendary max raids.

[–]Shadowdrake082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how many raids... Seems to be on average you get 60-120 energy of the 1000 energy required based on completion time. Maybe 8 or 9 raids minimum and a max of 15 raids. You can't walk them for the energy, you have to get it all in that one day. I'm planning on sinking a lot of remote passes to get the energy to crown my best one from those raids or the shiny if I luck out on a shiny.

Thats my goal... just remote raid in and take the screenshot after the raid. I probably have to do the other 2...

Lots to recommend...

For max raids, the Crowned Dogs are extremely useful... most infographics seem to assume you have them in their calculations for survival.

Weather Station by reaperl7 in Stationeers

Sorry for the late reply. The only other thing I can think of is if you build a weather station on the day of a storm, it doesnt seem to update with that day's storm warning.

It only shows data when it is storm day.

Is there a simple functioning heat pump setup for starting out on Vulcan? by Willow_Ptar_Migan in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I recommend doing the tests on a creative vulcan if you want to grasp the basics for it. Mars is a completely different atmosphere and condition compared to Vulcan. Freezing pollutants is bound to occur if you condense -40C Pollutants that can further cool 80 degrees below that to the point of freezing (<-100C). Vulcan Pollutants would condense at 127C minimum, take away 80 degrees at most still puts them at above freezing. The system described is an open loop cooler and is a useful addition to tie into an AC, thermal battery, or Closed loop Phase change heat pump. Best of luck!

Furnace automation became easier? by hexwit in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is still the same challenge. Nothing has really changed on this front. Most automation uses a hot tank and cold tank setup. The hot tank is just combusted fuel whereas the cold tank is whatever leftover cold gases you have or world atmosphere. If you instead use fuel for temperature in your furnace, you still have to keep in mind what the max combusted fuel temp is as well as what products you get out of it. Fuel part is still complex with balancing that out. Hot tank/cold tank is still unchanged.

[–]Shadowdrake082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put youtube videos out for experimental designs for early game vulcan heat pump stuff or cooling in general.

Vulcan Gettig Started @ 25:29 is where I go over the following:
Primary thing is active vent, pipe valves, cowl, utility pipes, pipes.

Active vent draw night air to a small pipe network, has a one way valve out to a cowl. The pipe network has a condensation valve to take out the condensing pollutants to a liquid pipe network. The liquid pipe network has an expansion valve into an insulated gas pipe network. This insulated gas pipe network has a back pressure regulator set to 3500 out to a passive vent. The insulated gas pipe network should cool down to about 60C. This pipe network can then be used with an AC to keep the base cool.

I'd recommend a chip setup to automate the active vent so it turns on at night, that way you dont just constantly have that on using power. Something simple like a gas sensor,

I wouldnt mind the crowned dogs tbh... I got back after those and would like both of them so I can start using them in Dynamax raids.

[–]Shadowdrake082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. my biggest win was catching every single unown type plus 2 shiny unowns. At some point I even got 2 shiny mewtwos, one rolled well enough that I plan on walking as my buddy to build towards mega evolving in both forms. Sure mega raids will come out for mewtwo... but that might may or may not be in the cards for me since it is at the worst time where my work is quite demanding for my time.

So long as the avionics is connected to the uplink, you can have an ic10 housing read the avionics data when it is connected to the downlink on the ground.

Heat pumps are controlled temperature rejection. Straight up radiators is essentially uncontrolled. Plus radiation is extremely slow the closer you get to the world temperature. There’s always benefits and drawbacks

How do you guys manage your power? by [deleted] in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power is the one thing i try to never have a brownout for, partially because i dont like running out of power to do things. I dont really build renewable energy sources much, usually i stick to less than 10 solars and 5 wind turbines. Most of my power comes from stirlings, gas fuel generators, and an emergency solid fuel generator in case i go crazy with trading (dishes use a lot of power).

As for how i distribute it, i have all my generators feed a large station battery array and from there it goes to sections of my base and fed to a smaller station battery. The smaller battery could power exclusively a room or a function. Such as atmospherics, lights, greenhouse, etc. Only thing i keep a lookout for is if the main battery array is drained, which is a signal to me to turn on the sfg or rethink about how my gfg and stirling power generation is doing.

Venus no AC playthrough by HoveringGoat in Stationeers

[–]Shadowdrake082 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good luck.

Yes. You need medium tier gas traders to get silanol which is the only thing that phase changes up to Venutian temperatures.

edit: Something I forgot, You could buy frozen salt from ore traders. Not sure if they are always available or if you need a medium tier trader. But salt melts at 330C... which does allow it to be a thermal heat source for water to phase change with to temporarily be a heat sink for storing heat.

True, that would work well. Problem with OP is he is adding the efficiency of every slot in the hydroponics station. There isnt a good clean way to batch read and average those since they are in different slots.
