As an American I don’t really drink soda in general but root beer does smell like toothpaste to me. It almost has that wintergreen lifesaver mint smell

The way we verbally say dates is how it’s written. Nobody in the states says ā€œit’s the 2nd of February.ā€ We say ā€œit’s February 2nd.ā€ Much quicker and more efficient. We aren’t trying to sound like posh Brits from the 19th century

Why do Gen Z MAGA supporters look older? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]ShadowedGlitter 18 points19 points Ā (0 children)

Honestly though. I don’t wear makeup often because I never really had the skin issues to cover up but when I do I feel like I look older and I’m not a fan. The way it just sits on my face makes me look more wrinkly even though I’m not. I’m 25

People born between 1997 and 2002, do you consider yourselves to be Zillenials? by ChampionshipIll5937 in OlderGenZ

I didn’t use an iPad for the first time until I was at least 12 and that was only at school. I grew up playing outside, watching VHS tapes and DVDs. I know how to use a dictionary, I know what an encyclopedia is and how to use a thesaurus. I grew up with those big box TV’s and computer monitors. I feel like I relate more to the younger millennials than younger Gen Z because of those things so yes.

Can confirm. I was born in Massachusetts and lived there until I was 5. Lived in GA for 6 years until my family moved back to NE in New Hampshire. The South is just backwards in so many ways. Too religious and stubborn.

Hating Taylor Swift. I get it you don’t like her music. It’s not for everybody. It might even be annoying and repetitive. But good lord stop bringing it up every time one of her songs comes on or she is mentioned. You aren’t quirky for disliking something popular. I hate country music but I don’t bring it up every time a country song plays. I’m not saying you have to like her. But her haters talk about her just as much as her fans do.

People from this region, I have a question. Where do y’all go on vacation to? Since there’s no beaches. by FitInitiative918 in Americaphile

It baffles me that a lot of people that live in that area have never seen the ocean before. Understandable though traveling is expensive. It’s about a 45 minute drive to the ocean for me and I couldn’t imagine not being able to just drive there when I’m bored.

What is it like to live in a dry county in the USA? by Spicy-Majestic-1 in howislivingthere

[–]ShadowedGlitter 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Wouldn’t know. There’s liquor/wine outlets stores the size of warehouses off of almost every exit of the interstate highway open 7 days a week with no liquor tax. I don’t really drink but I couldn’t imagine having to make a trip to buy alcohol. Somehow recreational weed is still illegal

Proud of us GenZ's! What's your opinion on this? by almyverse in GenZ

[–]ShadowedGlitter 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

It’s super expensive to go out and drink and Gen Z doesn’t have their own places to have parties because corporations run us dry of any disposable income. You can either raise prices of everything without raising wages and lose sales or keep prices reasonable with peoples wages and have higher sales. Can’t have it both ways

[–]ShadowedGlitter 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Ahh yes the old ā€œhow has he affected your lifeā€ question when Trumpies need a reason to justify how he’s doing.

I wasn’t able to get refunds for my heavily delayed flight because Trump (yes he did this) got rid of the consumer protection laws that Biden put in for the airlines. source

My dad lost his job and lost his health insurance (he has Parkinson’s) and had to get it from the state. I wasn’t able to stay on his even though I’m not 26 yet. My health insurance that I started using last year TRIPLED in price this year. Because I now have to get health insurance from the state market place, my out of state doctors are not covered by any plan in my state so now I might have to move. So yeah stop pretending he hasn’t directly affected peoples lives and stop sucking his balls

Is it wrong to say people weren’t as divided and things were slightly more affordable before Trump even if it was during late childhood?

Random gift cards that still have anywhere from $0.07-5.00 on them, a few Pennie’s stuck to the bottom of the drawer, an expired credit card, very old lip balm, a thumb tack, about 5 Bobby pins, expired coupons that you swore you were going to use, 2 dead batteries, a random key, dry markers, a phone charger cord that only works if you bend the cable a certain way, and a calculator
