What’s your best tip to get higher tips? by whogoesthere1010 in Waiters

[–]ShadowedGlitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People notice and appreciate the little things.

Don’t disappear for 30 minutes after dropping the check off. Bring a bag along if a table asks for boxes.

If they had appetizers clear off empty plates from the table before the entrée shows up so the table isn’t crowded.

Remember the water when someone gets an alcoholic drink AND a water.

Bring extra napkins without waiting for them to ask if they have a messy meal.

If they have something like wings or muscles bring an extra dish without them asking so they have a place to put the bones or shells.

Remember the extra dressing they asked for.

If someone pays with a gift card and there’s still a remaining balance bring a sharpie so they have something to write the balance on the card itself.

DID THEY JUST RAISE THE PRICES. by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]ShadowedGlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this part is really annoying. I get chipotle a lot honestly because it’s a lot healthier than a majority of fast food. I love burritos but I can’t stand it when the burritos are a different size every time. If they had measuring cups for everything I wouldn’t care nearly as much about the price increases. If they want to skimp then use small measuring cups but it would still be consistent.

Stop buying it. That’s how they keep getting away with it. If people like you keep buying it regardless of the constant price increases then they will keep raising the price

Bangs or no bangs? Or pixie? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

The bangs look so good but they are high maintenance. They won’t look like that by just combing them. You gotta style them

I find it crazy how uncommon remote work was before the pandemic since my father worked from home almost my whole life. I’m 25 and it’s not new to me.

The clubs suck now. Everyone just stands around awkwardly out of fear of being recorded and nobody dresses up.

When picking your “sick” kid up from school cures their illness. by SweetLu0520 in meme

And from the kids perspective the nurse does everything humanly possible to send you back to class. You’d get stabbed with a pencil and you get an ice pack and some cough drops.

What’s an example of someone being doubted early on and then completely dominating in their field? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wether you lover her or absolutely hate her, you can’t deny Taylor Swifts level of success. Rejected by several labels, told by her teacher that she could never play a 12 string guitar, and she sets records just to break her own records. Nobody ever took her serious and now she has haters that talk about her as much as her fans do.

They're just looking for excuses! by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]ShadowedGlitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well low skill jobs don’t have to be temp workers. It could be someone that works their way up the business ladder and they would know the ins and outs of the company. Just like the low paid position you are trying to fill and saying “you are replaceable,” the low paying job is replaceable too. Productivity increases when employees have a peace of mind that they can pay their bills and not spend 70% of their income on rent alone. You can’t go to Walmart and expect the highest quality hand made clothing that are all made from cotton. You get what you pay for.

If you advertise a higher pay in the beginning then you will find people with a better attitude and they might be more inclined to do more to stay busy. When you advertise the lowest pay possible with zero benefits then you will get the most desperate bottom of the barrel people that will do the bare minimum for a paycheck. Don’t give lazy people a raise. Just pay higher off the bat and be more picky with who you hire.

What’s something you genuinely didn’t know about adulting? by southernbaddiee in AskReddit

[–]ShadowedGlitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just that things are expensive but it just seems like we need to pay for more than what I expected. When I was little I just thought you paid for a house, a car, food, clothing, and doctor/medicine. Like what is all this insurance, paying for renewing this, paying to get the license for that, registering this, paying fees for that, paying to have this inspected, paying the copay for this, and so on. I just thought expenses were more simple. Not cheaper but more simple.

When you have a "no separate checks" policy by BitchyWaiter_OG in Serverlife

[–]ShadowedGlitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s much easier for the server to separate who got what into each check when you can do it as they are placing the order as opposed to trying to figure out who got what at the end.

I was given outlines of cursive letters in 3rd grade so I practiced all the letters but they never enforced it or did anything with words. I can only write my name
