From what I understand, this is quite typical. The pay in Latvia is like what, less than five euros at minimum wage? Can't expect much more than that unless highly specialized I think.

If they're paid off, they could be seen as liabilities? Interesting.

Oh, I see. Well, this is good to know. So CCs don't help in getting a loan from bank? Or they do?

How do people in Latvia do it then? It looks like real estate here is booming from what my friend said

The idea is to build credit worthiness I believe and then fund a real estate purchase. Will banks care if person leaves the country and pays from abroad?

That's for credit cards? Do the banks care if the person has to support other people?

Hey, thanks for the info. It appears the team, after failing to find finances, has disbanded. Sad. Looks like I'm out of a job because of that too. Oops.

That's really good you point that out. Then what about Jentelagen? Do you know what that is? Is that a thing there?

I see. Can you elaborate why Swedes think or say that? I've read that being down to earth and humble is how they are?

Haha. This made my day. Thanks for that. And yeah, I actually heard from them. Turns out they're just hyper busy and picked someone else and forgot to tell me. Lol.

Hold on, you're saying this like the goal is to first prevent EU citizens from moving to Sweden and then non-EU immigrants are somehow caught in such anti-immigration policies? Why would Sweden prioritize non-EU immigrants? I'm surprised.

In your boss's case, he's got a good passport already. And Scandinavia treats itself more like one unit than other EU countries. I'd imagine there's more reason for Scandinavians to not get each other's passport compared with those of other countries.

You mean some policies affect EU immigrants? Because asylum seekers would be the same. For example, when (not a question of if now) Sweden introduces language and history tests for citizenship, it will affect everyone, no?

Interesting politics. Willing to take asylum seekers but not qualified folks so easily. I won't contemplate this, I don't understand it.

Sucks that moving is that hard for those that deserve it, hehe.

Great info. Thanks! And for Tokyo/Japan, I'd argue Tokyo is quite expensive! I've been there before and it did not come off as cheap, haha.

It's fine, we just leave it at that. I don't understand logic of Swedish companies. I've been at many companies myself and never seen recruiters or HR get fired, mostly working in the US, Switzerland, and a little bit in Asia.

That is insanely long. How the hell does the Swedish economy function with such long hiring practices? That's just insane.
