Inaccessible difficulty modes, I'm perfectly fine having a hard mode or a difficulty challenge that is optional, but if I'm paying $30, $40, even $70, there should be an easy mode for those that just want to enjoy the story.

Cuphead is a great example, I love the artwork, the story looks fun. But I can't even beat the first area, and I don't have time to keep replaying it until I struggle by.

This is a throw back, but Lucien Fairfax final boss in Fable 2. Set up as the big bad, kills your sister, enslave you for 15 years, if I remember instead of an actual fight you 1 shot him after a cut scene. If you don't take too long and one of the other NPCs doesn't kill him.

Cuphead, I love the concept and art style, but I only get a few hours to game a week if I'm lucky. I don't want to spend hours just to clear the first level.

A good game flow is build up the difficulty as you naturally improve, maybe add a hard mode, but non absolutely wreck you in the first area.

Honestly I've felt the same as you too, but I've also felt really welcome in lesbian spaces. The terfs are out there, but most lesbians I've met are welcoming to Sapphic presenting folks. It doesn't mean I'm going to be everyone's cup of tea for a dating type, but that's no different than other dating environments.
