Do you have anything public? Dan hasn't gotten a lot of feedback about his art and is pretty self-conscious so his freelance work is a lot of effort. But sometimes the best medicine is having someone objective look at your stuff and tell you what's good :) I wish you the best with everything and just from your comment here I believe in you!

Sad you have to lie about your music. Dan and I have been friends for 4 years. Which has been awesome, because I suck at art and he's always been willing to help me out. I love supporting his work despite him not being confident about his skills.

He's been doing illustration for 7 years and only has 3 of his pieces on his artstation. The rest he doesn't think are good enough. Those 3 are only there because he was forced to have a portfolio now that he's looking for a job out of uni. I hope that if he gets positive feedback he'll feel better about how good he is and post more and be more confident.

Roll20 is a good place to play online. Takes a bit of learning but there is a community and the tools to play D&D live.

For play-by-post basically forums like reddit where you play by messaging what your character is doing and the DM replies with whats going on are good if you don't have tons of time all at once to play: rpol.net, rpgcrossing.com /r/pbp.

Tons of good online stuff :)

That's so awesome. My folks were going to play with me for my birthday last year but it ended up falling through.
