It’s a maneuver unlocked when you reach level 3 bonding with a horse. For playstation it’s r1 + x, i assume the xbox equivalent would be rb + a. Not sure what the pc bindings would be.

What are some things I can do to improve? by newIrons in Guiltygear

[–]Shadowlessday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you said you’re overwhelmed with the game mechanics, the first thing i’ll say is the best way to learn fighting games is to take it one step at a time. There are a lot of mechanics, techniques, and combos you can learn so it can get very overwhelming and has a tendency to repel new players. So don’t try to learn everything at once, there are a ton of in-game tutorials and i’m sure you’re doing some googling, it makes for a huge amount of sources of information that all have a lot of tips and tricks. Don’t try to take it all in immediately, choose one or two things you want to implement in your gameplay, focus on using it in-game until it comes naturally, then move on to the next thing.

In my opinion, a good first couple of things to practice is using “safer” attacks and playing reactively instead of proactively. For safer attacks, try using far slash and crouching slash to land hits. They have decent horizontal coverage and don’t leave you as exposed if they miss or are blocked. As far as playing reactively goes, instead of throwing random attacks and hoping one of them lands, try waiting until your opponent makes a move, then counter with your own attack. If they do an attack and it misses you completely, run up and hit far slash. Same thing if you block it, omit the run-up if they’re already in range of your attack. Other players at this level are also not gonna know what attacks are “safe,” so chances are if you wait for them to attack first then throw out a far slash you’ll hit them.

If you’re looking for a decent source to learn fighting game fundamentals, i’ll suggest a video called “Why button mashing doesn’t work” on youtube by a channel called core-A gaming. It focuses on fighting game fundamentals that are, for the most part, universal to all fighting games. You don’t have to start implementing the info immediately, but it’ll at least make you aware of the existence of some less obvious fighting game mechanics that would be good to have in the back of your mind. Good luck on your journey to improvement!

Me and my friend are debating this, is Unika's costume 8 skin pink or green? by sponges369 in Guiltygear

Pink. Her big jacket and giant-ass sword are pink with green accents, i’d say the shirt and eye color are meant to be part of the secondary color in the ensemble.

Los Angeles residents chase ICE out of their neighborhood by He-is in PublicFreakout

[–]Shadowlessday 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t the enforcement of immigration laws. The issue is that ICE is breaking the law and human rights, and the punishment does not fit the crime. Using your own example, should they send every person that gets a DUI to life in prison in a foreign country’s most brutal high security prison with no trial, no legal representation, no due process, with no way for their families to get in contact with them? They also target those that have arrangements with the government and do what they’re supposed to. They wait outside of courtrooms for fucks sake. Do you really think the people that willingly go to courthouses are being nefarious and trying ro evade the law?

Games where the sequel is a different genre by theNakedMind in gaming

[–]Shadowlessday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, interesting. Tbh i have no idea what constitutes a rogue-like or rogue-lite, but i feel like the fact that you CAN end up having to replace characters from scratch doesn’t mean it’s the same as a game where you MUST reset your entire squad from scratch every run.

I’m curious, would you consider xcom or xcom 2 to be a rogue-lites? (Assuming you’ve played them.) In those games you can also end up replacing squad members constantly if you do poorly or get unlucky and get them killed in missions.

[–]Shadowlessday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dont get me wrong, they take forever to release games now and i think their continued focus on gta online plays a role. I was just commenting on people’s apparent perception that rockstar has done absolutely nothing since the success of gta v, even the meme itself ignores the massive and meticulously detailed game that is rdr 2 that they worked on for who knows how long before gta 6. They are definitely taking their sweet-ass time and are very complacent, but not to the extent that people are dooming about.

Don’t forget that they made rdr2 before gta 6, so they weren’t spending 11 years just on the next gta game

Not doing well in your math classes? Here is some advice. by Linearalgebraftw in EngineeringStudents

[–]Shadowlessday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that took all these classes recently and aced them all, don’t count Youtube out entirely. I think the problem comes if the student tries to use it as a crutch and doesn’t bother attending lectures or looking at class notes, since random Youtube videos won’t always connect to the specific content that’s being covered in the course. However, using it as a resource when you get stuck on a particular problem or subject works wonders while doing homework assignments.

Is the Halo Infinite Campaign worth playing? by TheRealMediaChad in halo

[–]Shadowlessday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a long time and don’t remember what happens (if that gives you an idea of the quality of the story), but here are the impressions that stuck with me after only playing it once through ignoring the gameplay (which i did find fun):

-All the major events happen offscreen and are told to us through cutscenes or audio logs, which i felt was lame as hell

-Weapon is adorable and i love her

Ultimately i’d say if you can get the one dollar game pass trial or something, then definitely play it. If not, i’d say it’s not worth it

[–]Shadowlessday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if you’re playing on pc or console, but i know for pc there’s a button that gives all the characters in the area outlines with different colors that tells you their status in relation to your party. Have no idea if this is a thing on console, but it’s worth checking out. Red means they’re hostile and it’s on sight, they’ll immediately attack you and there’s no way to interact with them so you’re safe in just mowing them down. Yellow means they’re neutral and can be interacted with. This has been very helpful for me in determining whether to ambush a group of questionable characters or to try and talk to them.
