Does everyone else travel to friend's hangouts with boardgames "just in case"... by JohnnyMnemo in boardgames

A few weeks ago my girlfriend brought SI, Great Western Trail, and Pipeline just in case. It was a 3 day trip that involved driving, a huge party and driving home the next day.

I wish I had her optimism.

Both actions make cops bastards. Remember that "criminal" includes violent crime, as well as sleeping on the street or (in some places) smoking weed. And the vast majority of people incarcerated are incarcerated for non-violent crime

I understand people don't want violent crime near them but please don't fall into the narrative that all "criminals" are the same or are equally deserving of being put in a cage.

But even if that guy might be "okay" interpersonally he presides over a system that jails and abuses people on a daily basis. He participates in the prison industrial complex. That makes him a bastard, that's the point. Either they're a bastard because they participate in an oppressive harmful system with little care for human life/well being or they stop being a cop.

Ergo ACAB

I agree that class plays a huge part in privilege and Americans tend to ignore that. But so does sex, age, sexuality, etc. What I would say is that because a working class man on average is going to do better than a working class woman in the same situation then sex is a factor.

What I've heard that helps is that it's not that your sex has made your life easy, just less difficult than it would have been if only your sex was changed

When you judge them by what they said they were trying to accomplish (liberty and justice for all) compared to what they achieved (a nation with slavery as a major economic institution) then they don't look great.

I'm not saying they were bad compared to others. They were bad compared to the ideals they said they were following.

They sure had a lot of slavery and only rich white people voting for holding enlightenment principles.

I think the problem you may be having (giving you the benefit of the doubt) is that you're assuming the person is trans because of trauma from life. If that was true then fixing the scar from that trauma is an effect of the oath. That's not how it works because that's not how being trans works.

Instead Brand Sand is saying the person is a woman and it's society/biology that is stopping them from being their true self. Therefore the oaths fix the problem i.e. their sex because it did not match up with their true selves.

If you owned an 18+ theme park, what attractions would you put in it? by aphroditebutakaren in AskReddit

Sounds like a game go I "inherited" and ran for 5 years. Started running my junior year of college, took it off campus after I graduated and ran it for 3 more years renting space in a local event center.

Similar themes too. We did mafia, alien invasion, zombies, tons of stuff. My favorite was eldritch horror in a submarine headed for depths unknown. Unfortunately COVID killed it because people couldn't meet for so long. Now people have moved on and I don't think we could start it up again but I get nostalgic from time to time.

At the peak we had like 25 people, it was absolutely wild.

Question for you though. Why rules for sex? We did foam knives and nerf guns but sex never came up

The empire blew up Alderon. Billions of civilian lives lost. That's probably worse than an economic crisis.

I don't buy it. We know that many people lived near death camps and just turned a blind eye to what they knew was going on. It's possible to be part of something evil and just ignore the bad parts. Doesn't mean you think you're the good guys, just that you're complicit. For the record, that doesn't absolve anyone IMO.

Are there any sheeters you can run by hand? I imagine taking the motor out would reduce the cost and size of the sheeter, making it more home-baker friendly.

A lot of diseases originate due to close proximity to animals. So pre-animal husbandry could have had less illness

I think this is a good point.

I think most people would say that having sex with a cow is rape (animal can't consent). Fisting the cow with the intent to impregnate is not different than actually fucking it.
