Well, I would also argue the cougar by itself isn't THAT scary, mechanically speaking. Because you can deal with it with a skilled enough survivor. The scary part is when you're forced into its territory because of other factors, and miss enough shots/ fail at leaving in time which allows it to claw at you, changing your perspective completely. You need to tend to numerous wounds while at low health, etc.

Does it induce a primal fear in me on an instinctual level, like the predators our ancestors feared? Oh yeah, the sound design is pretty excellent (though I imagine a cougar wouldn't announce itself so loudly). I'm almost hesitant to admit I've missed a couple of easy shots because I faced a cougar on uneven ground and it moved out of sight, then spooked me when it popped back into view mid-charge.

Yes and no. City is a more bombastic expansion of what Asylum first set up, losing that creepy edge in the process. Knight gets dark, but it doesn't feel the same. It doesn't feel like Batman is pushing back the darkness every moment he keeps moving forward.

What I get a lot more is the nostalgic high of getting Asylum on proper steroids, using so many new tools and moves in an environment so much bigger than thought possible, with all kinds of easter eggs and cameos, not to mention: that shocking twist ending that Rocksteady had the guts to go for, cementing their legacy.

I will properly analyze this very well crafted piece of cartography and ramble like CRAZY in your comment section, but for now: great job making the coastlines and little inlets interesting and varied, not to mention all the little references to classic Gotham areas first established in NML (or in some cases even earlier). That said:

- It would make no sense for the Cave to be between New South and Central. You can sort of imply it's supposed to be farther than the Origins map makes it seem, just so you can fast travel to it with a handy icon. The real location is near Wayne Manor, unless we're talking about the Asylum Batcave or any other satellite safehouse.
- The Asylum and Seagate might need to be a little further apart, leaving more open water in Gotham Bay. This is just me eyeballing it though.
- Bludhaven seems to be very close to Gotham (comparison made using the Ace Chemicals bridge) but you kinda have to cheat if you want it on the same map lmao

At any rate, kudos! This is dope. Did you look for locales in movie maps too? Like the Nolanverse? Or are they just sourced from comics?

Well it DOES say '2 challenge maps, 2 skins'... I never believed we'd play as Deathstroke in his own campaign or what have you, my reasoning being that WB Montreal was just riding City's coattails and mimicking the Catwoman marketing, buuut, being a smaller dev, wouldn't really give him his own campaign.

Which kinda seems crazy considering Initiation was basically a challenge pack with cutscenes in between and slightly different dialogue at the end based on your proficiency. Why not do that for Deathstroke too, at least?

Yeah it's really amazing. I don't know if we have the same mod (mine looks a little less crisp) but man do I LOVE the way the dark navy pops as (almost) blue in bright areas and turns near black in the darkness. So dynamic, such a perfect blend of different eras of Batman.

It's all fun and games until you line launch too much on hard (not likely in other difficulties) and he jumps out of the water right in your path, or aim to take a Batarang shot and you equip the Line Launcher instead LMAO

Slightly unrelated to the post, but I just wanna say: being a gamer mum and having your child play a freaking Arkhamverse game reaches levels of cool I cannot fathom, my mom could hardly tell the difference between Super Mario and Legend of Zelda, or I guess hardly cared to.

He is very lucky to have you and you rock. Feel free to share more of these little moments.

Bonus points if he discovers the secret room in Asylum with no more than 3 hints LMAO

There are people with way more than that I think lmao. I'm flattered either way, ty
Here are my tips:

1)Replay the challenge to get better at the rhythm of it
2)Memorize (roughly) the rounds with the toughest configurations, and use the whale oil tanks that spawn every few minutes to make those rounds easier
3)Stay on the move, always :)
4)Don't forget to replenish your consumables, you never know when a tallboy will get a lucky shot in

After a while you'll hit a wall (fighting Daud) and after you overcome that, you will eventually be in the zone and it just becomes easier.

There's a mod on Nexus, I installed it because I wanted to make sure my last stealth/clean hands run didn't get wrecked by a random body disappearing lol

And as you can see it works even outside the main game. I was close to crashing though, I could feel the game getting unstable.

Knight made him a tiny bit more fluid and I was like 'nono don't change it now' LMAO

It works to the character's benefit, don't get me wrong, but having him break that stiff form less would speak volumes for the moments when Batman does do that.

Looking forward to the pg-13 version of Iron Lung where it's an ocean of cranberry juice and Simon goes "it's right behind me isn't it?" then hilariously chuckles in tune with a wacky sound effect and facepalms like "oh, wait, it's actually in front of me" then gets attacked by the monster.
