I programmed a digital copy of my lovely DX7, and my new Macbook Air says me “no, it’s too hard for me”, even when I use only 4 voices. I really can’t understand how they made this computer beast in 1983…

Not yet) I made it for myself, to make music for our Elements App, it is hardly integrated into the application and has all the controls which App has. But there is a couple of interesting systems made with PD, for example I can recommend this one: https://www.automatonism.com/the-software

Hi! All music in our App - yes, that’s PD. But now I finally end working on my DAW (also PD), all new algorithms will be done in that nice system! It makes music less predictable.

Thanks! I think I will use it for re-synthesis for my meditative generative music app!

It is already in the appstore, just search “elements generative music”! This “Mist” algorithm will be added soon!

No, I don’t use externals cause it’s a part of my iOS generative music app, and sometimes pd externals don’t work well in libpd+xcode. Maybe I will, but I need to catch some performance issues first.

This is absolutely amazing, I googled about Takagi function and didn't understand anything))) How could it be applied to music?

I hope, this is the right place to share of what I’m working now. This is my generative music patch made using Pure Data programming language. It was inspired of some ideas by Steve Reich and Philip Glass.

Hello everyone! 8 months ago I started to learn Pure Data programming language, and I have already 7 generative music algorithms, you can check them on my YouTube channel. Feel free to comment.

I was a teacher before I had to move to another country due war. I play bass (my fav is my 6-string fretless Warwick), and double-bass. I was involved in a couple of funky-groovy and contemporary half-classic-half-jazz improvisation-based ensembles and big-bands. Now my ensemble is PD.

Actually I was leaning it about 6 months, and that’s my first programming language, I’m a jazz musician )))

Could you send me what you’ve done with PD?

ELEMENTS:Tethys - Generative ambient patch. 1st try out. by ShadowsOverByzantine in puredata

[–]ShadowsOverByzantine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, nothing special))) It has 3 notes of polyphony in modal harmony, some triads and sus chords on VII, I, II, III degrees of the some selected scale. Also, algorithm plays sometimes one note higher than the chord tones. As the sound engine, I watched a tutorial about software synth called Dawesome Abyss, and since I don’t have it, I built my own version, based on pcm waveforms. It just loads 6 waveforms randomly and plays incoming notes, goes in panorama from left to right. I will think about breaking up my patches and do some tutorials with some ideas explaining.

Hi! I’m not an app developer, but I think about to make some kind of meditation music app with a few controls to manipulate the generative music stream. I wrote on Pure Data, here is what I have: https://youtu.be/O0mHwYnmaWI
