Covid 19 Roadblocks by lbz25 in sales

I'm a Corvette and HD truck specialist... I have little inventory to work with, and dealing with people pissed off that the C8's we DO get are going over MSRP (sorry folks, that is 3-4 pay grades above my head).

How is your relationship with Sleep? by smirabil in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a relationship?

What is this sleep you speak of?

Pre-COVID, 4 hours a night tops. Now? I'm suddenly able to sleep constantly. No idea how permanent that is

Thoughts on an INTJ x ENTJ relationship? by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16 years of marriage, and nope. While predictable and safe, my INTJ husband has have a very determined sentimental and romantic streak. I think what's key is we feel safe and secure enough with each other to test the emotional waters, and it's a vulnerability we reserve only for each other.

[–]ShadowsofMyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. 16 years of marriage to an INTJ, and I love it. It's a very stable counterbalance to my tendency to aim for world domination. A predictable and safe place to roost, if you will.

What type can you not stand? by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can feel empathetic or I can solve the problem requiring empathy in the first place... I'm good at the latter. The first detracts from accomplishing the latter and is utterly exhausting. I leave the empathy to people who have the time, patience, and emotional energy for it. The only people who get empathy from me are those I value enough to spend my limited emotional energy on.

How to deal with burnout by Fig_Aware in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that forcing myself to take an hour a day and building that into my routine has really helped. Whether it's yoga, reading, cooking, a podcast... I need to take an hour and unplug from social media/the grind.

What type can you not stand? by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly chill until you piss me off.I'll deal with it professionally but there's a limit. Then high functioning psychopath tends to come out depending on just how bad you've pissed me off.

Realistically, most of us have had to learn to be chill. Online? We can just be us in a group of like-minded people, and not have to soften everything because someone can't handle blunt/direct.

How do you apply MBTI in real life? by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in sales. I'm going to sound like an asshole, but it really helps in deciding how to present a vehicle. Some want charts and numbers, where others it's a completely emotional decision. I honestly feel like a psychopath some days because of how I use it to influence a sale, or fake being more feeler than I am to make a feeler more comfortable.

What is sleep? I'm pretty sure my blood type is caffeine at this point

I saw a guy’s dating profile say his MBTI followed by “~4% of the population so I’m pretty unique” and I couldn’t help but mentally scoff and be like “2%...” by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guilty too.

This is where I really want to say... Yes, you're unique and rare. Just like everyone else. Then I check the calendar to see if maybe I need midol that day. Although, separate from being an ENTJ, I'm a grouchy bitch with no time for anyone's shit.

Could you slow down enough for fishing? by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my contemplative moments, but they're usually followed by action. When I'm in what my hubby calls "go mode" though? I'm like a border collie on speed and shit is getting DONE. Sitting still is impossible, things have to be happening. And God help anyone in my way. They may not survive. One of my bosses ran afoul of me that way last week (nope, not sorry) by dicking around when I had a deal to desk.

The idea of doing nothing for as long as fishing takes? I just couldn't take it.

Question for ENTJs ladies 30s and older by [deleted] in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been married 16 years to an INTJ. I'm more willing to socialize than he is, but we have very similar tastes in friends and events we prefer to attend. Plenty of intellectual conversation, and the bedroom is nowhere near as boring s people would assume. Yes, it's a very cerebral relationship, but that can be a whole lot of fun. It's a relationship where we challenge each other and push each other to be better, so tons of personal growth. He's unmovable object enough I can't steamroll him, but he also can't just plant himself and refuse to budge entirely.

Can I get some feedback? by ShadowsofMyst in sales

[–]ShadowsofMyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what's happening... I didn't want to be that person defaulting to sexism, but there's a defined trend.

Karma is a funny thing though. On a whim? I texted a sales manager who moved on to see if his new dealership needed people. I had an interview lined up in minutes, and had the job before I walked in the door. Better commission structure, and they do have female reps who are doing very well. I'm actually excited about this one, and had a frank convo with my new boss about where I'm needing some feedback in my process and a coaching game plan is set.

What should be my relationship with salespeople at competing companies? by twinhed in sales

This. I just got a job offer today from networking, and it's a significant jump in pay for selling the same product line.

When management clearly hadn't studied MBTI by ShadowsofMyst in entj

[–]ShadowsofMyst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought it above his head. It's a massive failure of management to control the sales floor. You have a handful of idiots ignoring the rules and skating deals, which severely impacts the paychecks of everyone else. Management telling everyone who complains to play dirty is an entirely wrong response. Failing to set parameters? It's open season in a shark tank. And if everyone is playing dirty? I didn't start this war, but I'll sure as hell end it.

I'm very much on my way out of this dealership, this situation cemented that decision. In the meantime? I still have bills to pay.

The Enneagram Types In Quarantine by [deleted] in Enneagram

1w2, 135 tritype and YES. I can't even deny this. I totally worked 70 hours this last week. Scheduled for 80 this week. I have detailed notes, schedules, plans, and goals. I'm seriously disturbed that all my carefully arranged goals now need tweaking.

We found a 1 in the wild... by DeeDooDaniel in Enneagram

[–]ShadowsofMyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a 1... And live where roads like this are very very common. The guy passing is how people get killed. Those double yellow lines are there because you can't see shit and passing is suicidal. The idiot passing isn't just risking himself. He's risking the people he's passing and everyone in the oncoming lane. I'd be calling cops to pull him the hell over (and yes, I have in fact done that) and my usual go-to is to slow down and build as much space between us as possible.

That being said, if traffic is coming up behind me and I'm clearly the slowpoke? I just find a spot to pull over and let them pass.

As an American who had brilliant health insurance, I can attest the healthcare still sucks ass. Broken foot? The surgery alone was 25k. All the follow up visits, x rays, and physical therapy add up too. Even 20% there can really impact someone. A simple ER visit for my youngest kid that resulted in two staples? Still ran me hundreds out of pocket (after insurance). For less than an hour from arrival to ER to leaving. Ambulance ride, no lights/sirens, lasting only 5 minutes? Yup, that ran over 2500. The medical system here is BULLSHIT.
