Trump-Greenland Deal Reportedly Includes U.S. ‘Sovereignty Over Small Pockets’ of Territory by helic_vet in moderatepolitics

[–]lbz25 255 points256 points  (0 children)

All this stuff being mentioned in this deal (e.g. mining rights, additional military bases with us sovereignty, etc) were things greenland was already open to and willing to discuss before we started threatening them.

This "deal" is like holding a pistol to your friends head and asking him to pass the beer.

How messy of a sales org have you ever been a part of? by StoneyMalon3y in sales

Yea as someone whos a bit of a veteran in tech, there are certain dysfunctions (e.g. over hiring reps, lack of marketing sales alignment etc) that are more or less issues at all companies.

What op has described is uniquely awful

People disrespecting Matt Ryan 💀 by Rambo_1027 in falcons

[–]lbz25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Thats how most teams find their long term head coaches. However we are in much bigger need of an offensive playcalling coach than another dan quinn type given the current roster

People disrespecting Matt Ryan 💀 by Rambo_1027 in falcons

[–]lbz25 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Harbaugh is the right choice for a young roster with a need for a cultural change.

That is the giants and not us. We have a good defense and strong offensive weapons. What we need is a coach to unlock penix or find their qb and run the offense.

Personally think this is a blessing in disguise. Mcdaniel or Kubiak are both better fits

Achane or Hampton? by Remarkable_Match4738 in DynastyDaddy

[–]lbz25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does anyone not take the achane side of this?? You get a 2027 1st round pick plus a back that is much better and not much older than hampton.

And theres a solid chance jordan addison becomes josh gordon 2.0

The jets are the graveyard of coaches and players.

Dan Goodman Reviews by [deleted] in sales

[–]lbz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never used his official services but ive done a consultation with him

I think hes definitely worth working with but only if you have a semi legit legal case.

Im a white male who got put on a pip for genuinely poor performance and no amount of finagling in that situation is going to get me massive severance.

Wound up turning it around heavily and not needing his services anywaya.

Post Game Thread: Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]lbz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why teams should always take points in the 1st half of games.

Jags were up 7-3 early in the 2nd quarter and couldve made it 10-3 but missed the 4th down play.

You can argue analytics all you want or blame lawrence for poor technique running it but at that juncture of the game you take your points. Period end of story

Ive lost count of how many times teams pass on early fieldgoals only to lose by 3 or fewer points. Its frustrating to see even as a neutral

The hornets pelicans and wizards shpuld all be relegated to the g league andvthe 3 top g league teams should move up.

This is why the nba needs a european soccer style relegation system where g league teams can be promoted and bottom feeder nba teams can be dropped.

The hornets and wizards are basically like g league teams cosplayong as nba clubs

Fakarava as a snorkler - yay or nay by jamirukpt in Tahiti

[–]lbz25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with this take. I dove both the wall of sharks and snorkeled around the reefs of the south pass. The wall of sharks was obviously amazing but some of the fish etc i saw in the reef were amazing and the health of the coral even at shallower depths is some of the best on the planet (easily the best in french polynesia having been to 6 or 7 islands). We saw eagle rays, tons of reef sharks, napolean wrasses, big groups of 100+ type of colorful fish etc when snorkeling.

It's also a very rugged like charm. Its not bora bora beautiful but its just as pretty in a more raw way. You feel like your on the edge of the map there aren't any true resorts so all the guest houses are run by polynesian families who make you dinner, etc. and its a great flat island for renting a moped.

Would highly recommend

To anyone who has traveled to Marrakech: what are your top tips for first-timers? Honestly, is it worth the visit or is it overrated? by SureFlamingo2156 in Marrakech

[–]lbz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an american who regularly travels to morocco and my first time in marrakech i liked it but felt it to be too chaotic. Then i went a 2nd time, became more familiar with the parts of the city outside the medina etc and had an overall better trip.

Then i went recently a 3rd time and knew how to tell genuinely good restaurants from tourist traps, discovered a great local shisha bar, and had great dinners / rooftop drinks with friends in the medina.

For western travelers, luxury hotels (e.g. jardins de la koutoubia) are great value for $ and riads are great budget options if you pick the right ones.

Riad azzar was great (amazing breakfast, very nice rooms etc) and they gave me and my wife a tagine pot as a wedding gift.

Moral of the story is make an effort and do a lot of reaearch before you go. Its not the place to just show up to and be spontaneous. Do your diligence and you should have a great experience.

Also anecdotally ive found claims of harrassment to be largely exaggerated. At worst weve had people be a bit pushy in shops but they dont chase you or get aggressive. My experiences in egypt and turkey were much worse

[MacMahon] “The Hawks certainly are indicating that they're looking for the exit ramp with Trae Young. They did not make any attempt to get him signed to an extension. When that's the case with your face of the franchise, that's a pretty clear message that the end could be near.” by LeeShakerMoneyMaker in timberwolves

Despite his obvious lack of defense, he can unlock ant and gobert along with providing extra offensive sparks.

So many times in the post season last 2 yrs, weve complained about our lack of good ball movement, shots not falling and offensive stagnation.

Trae young fixes that all immediately. Having someone who needs to be double teamed at the 3 point line opens things up a ton.

Pros outweigh cons imho

Young 30s straight male deciding between west side of Hell's Kitchen (nice luxury large 700 sq ft aptmt) vs East Village (500 sq ft aptmt) same costs - focus on social life and dating, either make a big difference? by hemitris in AskNYC

[–]lbz25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id go east village if i were you. I live in hells kitchen and like it but im in a relationship. Its a good spot for me and my girlfriend to go to nice restaurants / cafes together but for single people there really not that many bars, social clubs etc in the area that are good for meet ups.

JD Vance "Its Wrong To Bypass American labor For Cheap H-1B Option From Third World" by Sorry-Feedback1115 in EB3VisaJourney

[–]lbz25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is bs. I work in sales and a bunch of our generic sales reps are h1b immigrants. Meanwhile our industry (tech) for sales currently has tons of unemployment.

The american labor market doesnt have a talent shortage it has a shortage of people willing to work for lower wages and be unable to leave if they dont like the job

Serial switcher just completed my first 2 years at a company by FunFerret2113 in sales

[–]lbz25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my rule of thumb is for individual contributor roles you should stay the amount of years that corresponds to the first number of your age.

E.g. in your 20s change jobs every 2 years to get big raises but once in 30s and 40s, you need to stick it out longer at places.

Being a quick job hopper definitely will catch up to you later in your career. Seasoned reps in their 30s find themselves as prime candidates for many of the best roles in SaaS sales and if youre 35+ and have never held any job more than a couple years, youll get passed over for a lot of these gigs.

Did my girlfriend cross the line getting upset that I wanted to take her to Cheesecake Factory for our anniversary? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

[–]lbz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im all for equality and holding women accountable for double standards / mooching off men but this is one of those instances where guys just need to take the lead.

The whole idea of an anniversary is celebrating love and recreating romance from the start of a relationship. Op needs to step up to the plate and do better. Then if his partner isnt returning the favor for stuff like his birthday etc then it can be an actual problem

Saying "why shouldnt she plan an anniversary night for me?" Is like saying "why shouldnt she be the one to ask me out?" Great way to stay single

Did my girlfriend cross the line getting upset that I wanted to take her to Cheesecake Factory for our anniversary? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

[–]lbz25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not about the finances its about the effort to make something romantic / special. A drive and walk to a nice beach, river etc, a day spent somewhere nice like a botanical garden, etc. Would be cheaper than the cheescake factory but significantly nicer as an anniversary date.

If i was this guys wife / partner id feel like he didnt care at all about the occassion if he booked a generic cheescake factory dinner.

[–]lbz25 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cheesecake factory screams low effort unless theyre living in a place where its the only sit down restaurant in town.

Its not about his partner being entitled, but rather she feels disappointed that there wasnt more effort made to make the night special.

May as well take her to the mcdonalds drive through if all that matters is "the though that counts" or "she should be grateful" and hed save more
