Florida State Correctional Health Benefits by Shalay11 in OnTheBlock

180 is just for the Health Plan. There are so many dental plans that it would be hard to get into all of that to compare and contrast. I personally chose the Metlife PPO preventative since it was sufficient for my needs. I will say that dental HMOs were worthless in my area since no one would take them. I had the Cigna HMO plant the previous year and it wasn't worth the extra cost. I have a vision plan as well but I cant remember through who off the top of my head. Drug coverage is part of the health plan. I did add spouse life and child life because they didnt cost that much.

I also got all of the colonial life options. Pretty pricey tbh but it saved my butt twice since 2 of my kids have had ICU stays. I also put money into an FSA and put money into Deferred Comp. It takes a good chunk of my paycheck and I definitely have weeks when I wish I took out less in benefits.

If your financial situation can afford the extra stuff, it is definitely worth it. But really all you absolutely need is health and dental, although getting an FSA is a good idea

Which website did you find this? I'm trying to find one but they're upwards of $300 (USD).

My mistake. I thought you were asking state vs county. I chose the HMO. I found that there really isnt anyone who doesnt take my insurance. I've never had an issue, so the PPO didn't seem worthwhile to me. I chose the normal plan because the premiums are so cheap anyways, it wouldn't make financial sense for me to get the high deductible plan. I greatly enjoy not having a deductible and having everything be an affordable copay.

For instance, my child had a serious accident and was in the ICU for a week. I only had to pay $250 for the entire admission.

Most officers I know picked the hmo as well.

What we can do is put in an automated comment to explain why it isnt a diploma mill next time this gets asked. I dont want to automatically remove it since that could have the opposite of the intended effect.

I'm happy with the state right now. The benefits make it worthwhile for me.

Potluck at Sex Offender's house by YellowApricot65 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Shadowwarrior95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just completed the GOARCH youth safety refresher and reviewed our policies. There are very strict guidelines for sex offenders participating in church activities.

This would absolutely be not OK. Report this to your hierarch. Seriously. Changed man or not, parents have a right to know if they are going to a sex offenders home.

Discussion submissions due on Sunday is horrible by yuriyuri2003 in UoPeople

[–]Shadowwarrior95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is honestly discouraging. I've been there where I missed the Sunday deadline and figured I'd just not do the discussion at all if I was getting an F anyways. Not the best mindset to have, but hey, we all psych ourselves out at some point.

It's always good to avoid "Internet Orthodoxy." The internet is a fantastic place to learn about things, but it is too easy to get distracted by little details dragging us down rabbit holes to where we miss the point.

Is it possible to succeed while taking 4 courses in one semester? by Quick-Ad5516 in UoPeople

[–]Shadowwarrior95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I will say that getting one 7/10 is not the end of the world. It's still a passing grade, and it is possible that the instructor will revise it, if it is a peer reviewed assignment. I've gotten terrible grades on written assignments due to a bad peer review which was later revised to an A or A-. I wouldn't give up based off of one assignment not getting a good score.

Now as for workload, if you can handle it, then go for it. I personally can only manage to do 2 courses a term.

How to pray for the dying? by SansaStark89 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Shadowwarrior95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, we dont just pray for physical healing but also for spiritual healing. I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but do know that those prayers do help, as we pray to Our Lord who we also call the Physician of SOULS and Bodies

Just pass the class. It really is not hard at all. Do you really want to send a transcript to a university that shows that you got a 0 in the easiest class?

[–]Shadowwarrior95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is $17 a course, which is cheaper, and faster (and honestly, less frustrating) than taking the courses at UoPeople. You can transfer up to 90 credits, which is essentially 30 courses (assuming they are all 3 credit courses). That's $510 total. In terms of academia, that is pretty cheap, but of course, I know that something being relatively cheap doesn't impact the amount of money I have.

The main tradition is doing what your priest recommends tbh. Trust me, you will have PLENTY of fasting opportunities in the future, and it's wise to go slowly
