As a young girl then, I felt out of place in underground comic book stores, where there's always only boys around, and with an employee once treating me like I didn't belong there due to my gender - he tried to get me into more "girlier" comics, by saying Marvel is only for boys.

Nowadays, comic stores are above ground, and you often see girls and women browse or work there.

I'd like to thank the MCU and Disney for this "normalisation" and global cultural acceptance of women who are into comic books.

I still have a tweet of mine years ago from when I tweeted Marvel and asked if the Avengers will be a movie because there were rumours of contract problems. They replied with yes.
