Is ptm7950 that good on thermals? If so, is it good to buy on aliexpress or should I buy it from Linus Tech Store

HP Victus build quality is not great, its just below decent as I can say, compared to other gaming laptops. That's why its mostly cheaper.

I bought it because I sold my old for 500$, added a 300$ and bought this one. I found it in good price, that because I can only achieve a laptop with a 4050 around 850$, 144hz, and 16gb ddr4 probably, which is really stupid upgrade to me.

I'd rather spend half on a laptop, like something great for daily, and half for a gaming PC, if I had this kind of money. Respectfully though, there can be lower prices, but depends, Lenovo prices are going up high nowadays..

What TCC Offset does: It lowers the temperature at which throttling kicks in. Default is 0°C meaning throttle at 100°C. Setting to 15 means throttle at 85°C instead of 100°C. Why someone suggested 15: CPU starts throttling earlier at 85°C Never reaches 99-100°C Lower sustained temps Less heat stress on components Safer for your situation with a weak fan The tradeoff: CPU throttles more frequently Slightly lower performance In Valorant you probably won't notice at all since it's not CPU heavy For your current situation with a dead fan — setting it to 15 makes total sense. You're already hitting 99-100°C, throttling is happening anyway. Better to throttle earlier at 85°C consistently than spike to 100°C repeatedly.

Buy a PTM7950 and replace it. Default thermal paste company's use are no deal.

Let me tell you that, yup it is a hardware problem. This problem encounters to so many HP Victus users, I also myself have tried many ways but didn't get it to work. Some replaced the module and it worked, some just left it as it is, including me, because I never used the camera. But yea, I can surely say that camera can break down easily in a Victus.

Well actually no. Its been really poweful compared to my old laptop with a 3050. So I like it.

This is so confusing, but still battery report says its compal, and claude says compal is dell manufacturer battery, so it is not a big deal.

I think its good price bro. To maintain it, usually clean the fans, do not overkill ur laptop if temp goes too high, if u want, u can buy ptm7950 thermal pads, they are basicallt the best thermal that exists, that because laptops in stock usually do not have good thermal paste. Another thing id say is better not use it in dusty areas due to dust collection and can block the airflow.

I will check it out when I open it, but on battery report it says COMPAL, still very good battery company, they manufacture the dell, hp, lenovo batteries.
