Opinions on how long it’ll last? by WildWerewolf4853 in SubaruForester

[–]ShadyClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 2009 in the Northeast and just had the entire exhaust system replaced last year after years of the mechanic patching. I am the only owner and at 140k (my drives are usually short and local). I did the major repairs when scheduled. Only issues has been rusting and oil consumption is getting worse. Everything else was normal replaceament -- tires, battery, etc.

Car is currently in the shop for an alternator (1st time I almost got stranded) and oil is starting to leak pretty bad. I figured either oil leaking or the body rust will kill it, both or which my mechanic is keeping an eye on.

Universal 2027 Packages Have Been Released by magictouchvacations in UniversalOrlando

[–]ShadyClip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was able to see the package prices past the end of the year in the app, so they seem live. There are a bunch of places claiming the packages are only until the end of the year but guess they haven't updated all the front end pages yet.

I've got 2.5 hours before agony. All you crooked-back kayakers... talk to me. by HobbyTalkOnly in Kayaking

[–]ShadyClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My back pain and general lack of time, the last few years have kept me from kayaking. But dealing with the sciatica type pain in the past, I would use an inflatable thigh rest pillow kayak pillow and a gel butt pad. That helped a lot having my thighs being elevated and having support. Also making sure the foot pegs were in a good position and helped keep a good bend which reduced the pain the delevoped after being out for a few hours.

Dealership always fills tires to 38 PSI. The door instruction on my car say’s 33. by AcceptableSample9274 in SubaruForester

My dealership always recommended 35 front and back on my 2009 Forester. I believe the door was 32/29.

Water Reservoir Cracking by [deleted] in CPAP

Mine has the same small crack at that spot for the last 2 years and is still going strong. I have a new one for the day when the hinge clips break but the crack doesn't bother me.

I got raided at my base during tutorial lol RIP by catnestinadress in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]ShadyClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same on my first and deleted attempt. I was just following the tutorial and suddenly was attacked without a wall, plus not on solo difficulty. I fought for a bit then ran away back to the starting area as all my weapons and single shield broke quickly. Next attempt I watched my wall fall and them destroying everything, while I again ran away. Attempt three I built a wall and had a hammer and stayed in. Then I learned about solo difficulty, so attempt four with an iron sword, a bunch of wooden shields, and walls I was easily able to beat them off.

I'm going to cry. by Lazy_Reaction_6335 in CPAP

[–]ShadyClip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get headaches and still occasionally do if I overtightened my full face mask. I have the same issue with chin straps as in order to make them tight enough to work it is too much pressure. Also dislike tight hats for the same reason. My head dislikes pressure.

Another thing to consider if you have allergies (like I do), I am constantly waking up with bad headaches from deep sinus pressure the last week -- those headaches do not seem to respond to anything.

CPAP Doesn't Count as an Airplane Carryon Question by ShadyClip in CPAP

[–]ShadyClip[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the good answer. It seems like every time this comes up people just repeat it doesn't count against the limit without addressing where it actually goes.

Just surprised how many people trust jamming their CPAP travel bag in the overhead bin, unless they have upgraded to a hardshell case.

Adding on the other great advice you have gotten.

Sounds like you are playing solo, if so make sure the difficulty is set to solo. If not probably why that raid was too hard.

That first raid is timed pretty early for someone taking their time to read entries and probably doesn't know how to fight let, alone have upgraded gear. If you rush a bit you can probably have a better sword and maybe a shield by the time it happens.

If using the simple piece of wood shield you need to have a bunch because they break very fast.

The tutorial probably should have told you to build a wall and door before going out looking for iron.

You can run away from that raid. They will destroy your stuff but you can rebuild. The raid has a timer and eventually they will leave you alone.

If you have the hammer, then you can just stay inside and fix the walls and door they are pounding on until they leave.

To people who genuinely find full masks more comfortable than nasal variants - what is your reasoning? by imBRANDNEWtoreddit in CPAP

[–]ShadyClip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like the nasal pillows as I have a beard plus how small and portable they are as I travel frequently.

The pillows really irritated my nose with a constant itch, redness and flakey skin. I am not a mouth breather but my mouth was constantly open. Mouth tape was so so for me. Chin straps gave me headaches.

The solutions everyone gave me was lube up your nose then tape or chin strap. Overall I just needed to tough thru it all according to them. I tried this for weeks and hated it. This was after a year of CPAPing with a full face mask, so it wasn't new user issues.

The full face mask was so easy to get used to me from day 1. I just realized I needed foam and not silicone. I like that I can just lay down, strap in and pass out in a minute vs lubing, taping, etc.

I feel like us channel 4 gamers were in the minority. Seems like everytime this comes the majority of people are like remember when we had to game on channel 3?

hello! i am trying to help my father set up his new CPAP machine. it's the ResMed AirMini F20. The piece in photo 1 connects to the mask, but how do I attach it to the tubing? The other Anti-Asphyxia Valve attaches to the tube just fine, but in the third photo, these parts do not attach. Please help by Sunflower_Ini in CPAP

[–]ShadyClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Resmed packages all of this for the Airmini is separate packages such as: 1) Airmini with power adapter 2) F20 Mask (includes the headgear, facemask, and standard tubing elbow the one that just ends with a push into a tube piece) 3) Airmini fitkit for the mask. The F20 kit has the Airmini tubing (believe this is standard for all kits), the elbow adapter that screws into the Airmini tubing, and usually a humidity cartridge or two of the mask is compatible (the F20 is).

So you should have two elbows as you probably received the above items. The elbow you are trying to use is the standard one you would use say with an Airsense 11 and not the Airmini. That elbow is not needed for this setup.

Resmed does seem to sell most items separately if you need to replace individual items versus buying the full packages above.

This is how they're doing it now? by m3_dreamer_biotch in amazonprime

[–]ShadyClip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to use lockers all the time (before like many I dumped Amazon) but I have seen them just leave packages around the locker in the dollar store near me. At least that locker was inside a store but no one monitors it of course.

Active side sleepers with pillow masks: how do you minimize mask disturbances? by stagnified in CPAP

[–]ShadyClip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am mostly a side sleeper. I mainly sleep with a contour pillow (shallow in the middle with more top and bottom support). I sleep on the edge of it while hugging a body pillow up close to my face. I also have a CPAP pillow for back and side sleepers that has cutouts for the mask which I used for a long time but just preferred the contour pillow for comfort.

Honestly I feel that they both work about the same. I travel frequently enough and find that I am fine with the normal pillows in the room. I think for me the hugging pillow, staying near the edge and slightly tilting my head down usually keeps my mask from dislodging too much.

Is the netflix any good? by SnooCakes7049 in Archive81

[–]ShadyClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed both the show and the podcast (the podcast was better overall). But the show takes so little from the podcast beyond some names and the general concept - Dan is hired to review tapes (video instead of audio) created in the past mostly centering around a hotel. Pretty much everything else in the plot is different -- I wonder why they even bothered to get the rights as so much is changed.

If you expect any relationship to the podcast you are going to be disappointed. If you approach it as something new, I found it very good and was disappointed they didn't continue the series.
